I agree that both systems can product amazing results. It’s really a factor of paint correction and flat clear more than anything else. I think diehards could tell the difference but not so much for the common car care guy, should our cars be parked next to each other...who knows

I’m OCD when it comes to detailing and I can tell you that you still need to stay on top of coated car if you want it to look immaculate.

I do see what you are saying in that for the “average”, ceramics can make care and feeding easier with less steps and not as time consuming as compared to getting a non coated car to look “relatively good”.

basicslly coated or not, you need to put in serious time to get serious results. If you’re just looking for a basic clean car that looks shiny with minimal effort, ceramics can make it easier for you to attain that vs. non coated cars.

After looking around the web I stumbled onto THIS guy's youtube page & let me tell you, He could CHARGE a fee & I would pay it.
He is like a modern day "Consumer reports" person who REFUSES to accept any products he puts to his stringent tests.

So here he is TESTING consumer grade ceramic coatings you can buy & avoid those $1800 places. After seeing this video I went with his recommendation on "hybrid solutions" & my 2107 Corvette lo0ks AMAZING!
NOTE: Of course those $1800 detailers are going to TRY to talk you out of saving $$$$ on do it yourself ceramic sprays BUT I strongly suggest you look into how far at home ceramic applications have come these last few years.
ENJOY!
