Just purchased a new battery because the old one will not take a charge. Is there anything different in doing the change other then removing both cables off of the old battery and replacing with new one?

At a high-level, not really, but this thread and the following video provide more of the details...
The new AC Delco Battery does come with a vent elbow, it is kept separate from the battery. Make sure you ask for it at the parts counter. Sometimes, they forget. I had to go back and get it.
If you have a Roadster, you are going to need a battery terminal strap. Last years battery came with one (for my '95). I got a battery last week for the '16 and it did not come with a strap. I had saved the strap from last year and used it.
The Roadster battery area is very tight. You have to lower the battery with the strap, keeping the leftt side (+) lower than the right side (-). Slide the left side of the battery at an angle against the left side of the battery compartment. This was the only way I could get it to ffit. That is why you need the strap.
Battery manufacturers caution against the use of a terminal battery strap as it can damage the battery cells. See, e.g., here.
Good point. I just use it to pull out the old battery before it goes to recycling. My replacement East Penn battery came with a handle. Thanks GM for cheaping out on a handle.
