During a periodic "no music playing to hear any noises" drive I noticed a intermitted, short squeak while driving. Searched the C7 forum and didn't find anything similar. Here is what I can tell:
Not related to braking, acceleration, or suspension changes. Doesn't occur when the car is stopped.
Seems to be coming from mid to front of vehicle. It seems more mid than front.
Under the hood looks fine.
It seems to occur on both sides.
Driving in a quiet area with the windows down did not help me determine the location or caused me to hear the squeak louder. It is not loud, not quiet...middle of the road.
There is no pattern to when the noise occurs.
Seems to occur almost entirely while driving 30-50 mph.
No check engine light, car seems to be performing fine otherwise.
Recently had a tune up and new brake calipers put on by a Corvette mechanic shop.
Did just wash and clay bar it. It was probably a little too cold. I share this because the used bug and tar on the front and clean that off right before the rims. Because it was a little too cold, the bug and tar left a film on the sponge that might have transferred onto the rims when I did them. (I'm reaching here)
16k on the car.
Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Do you have an automatic trans? Mine made a sound like a hamster that thought about going around the wheel but just rocked one time anytime it would go in/out of V4 mode (aka AFM) Drove me nuts for a while.

It is an automatic and that is just about where the V4 mode would cut in and out. Did you ever get this fixed or have a problem? Thanks!
I thought about this but it doesn't seem to make the noise when I hit rough terrain, which I would think would cause the noise to become audible. Good suggestion though!
I had a ‘19 Stingray A8 that was making a squeak every time it went in and out of V4 mode. When I drove it in manual mode with the paddles it wouldn’t do it, so I knew it had something to do with the V4 mode. The car doesn’t go into V4 mode while using the paddles. Turns out it was the AFM valves on the exhaust in front of the mufflers. TSB 16-NA-003 covers lubrication of the exhaust valves. However, I had the lubrication done twice and the valves wouldn’t stop squeaking. The next step was replacing the exhaust. I never had that done because I ended up trading in the car for a GS with an M7.

Early on after I took delivery of mine I took it to the dealer for that squeak. Naturally, they said they couldn’t find any problems. Not sure if it’s a solenoid or maybe the belt tensioner when it switches modes. I’m using the Range AFM Disabler now so I no longer hear it. That’s how I knew my disabler failed last month because I heard that familiar squeak. Bring up “V4/V8” on your display so you can monitor it to see if the noise is in sync with the switching.
I noticed a similar noise a few years back, and found the source to be the NPP exhaust actuators, right by the exhaust tips. It was under warranty @ the time, so I took it to the dealer and they took care of it.

have the same squeak, noticed it when temps are cooler. No idea what is causing it but given all the problems I’ve had with the corvette, didn’t bother to fur ther investigate

Had a chance to drive the car today....THIS WAS IT. When the car goes into V4 mode, no noise, but when it goes back from V4 to V8, 100% of the time, it makes the squeak. Awesome intel...THANK YOU!
So have you been driving it for some time with the disabler with no other transmission issues? It this just an annoyance or is it going to lead to a bigger problem down the road?
Thanks to all who shared information on this. This community is incredible with the help and info sharing. Thanks again everyone!

Yes...and yes. I’ve had two complete trans replacements, one torque converter and on trans valvebody for the various A8 issues. I never drive without the Range AFM Disabler now.
