Good evening. Let me explain why I started that thread. I own a 2016 Z51 M7 Vette I bought in Feb 2020. It only had 5,000 miles and I have only one complaint. Sometimes especially when cold I get a slight gear grind shifting into 2nd gear. That issue has been answered for me on this forum already. Other than that no real issues. Now since I bought it used I wanted to make sure the correct oil and filter was done. So I took it to my local Chevy dealer for a fresh oil change. There is a good Vette tech there and he did the work. When he gave the car back to me he mentioned "he used the high perf black filter"... At the time I did not think much about it especially when I checked the oil and "was at the right level which seems to be rare when a dealer does an oil change on dry sump engines"... A few days ago I just wanted to see what this black performance filter was. At the time I only saw one which was black UPF44 or UPF48. That is only for C5 and C6 LS engines and it made me want to make sure that is not was installed in my car. Went to the dealer and they actually put the car on the lift and let me see they installed the UPF64R and said that is a better filter and is used in place of PF64. I also checked out the AC Delco site KLG mentioned and that site clearly shows you can use this UPH64R on all C7 Corvettes, all years and engines. So the original thread was because I did not know the UPF64R existed. My mistake. I got to say there is a lot of good information on the forum but, it is mixed with lots of opinion which can be confusing. So, I will leave the UPH64R in the car and sleep a bit better tonight. That being said most everyone on this forum has some good info and seem to want to help fellow Corvette owners. Thanks for listening. Johnny D "miss my Z06"
