I had the delco battery in my 2000 GMC 2500, which sits most of the time in the driveway outside for at least a month or more between starts on occasion, last at least 15 years. No maintainer. This is in SF bay area where the max temps are around 100 for a few weeks a year. If you pay attention, they give you warning, and if you're paranoid, there are several monitoring devices that send data to your phone to monitor the condition of the battery and charging system. I don't have extra money to throw away on batteries that are old. I've not heard of permanent damage done to vettes when the battery gets low, so if it does start to flake out, a new battery goes in, and life goes on.
