Today, for the first time, I turned off traction and stability control and from a dead stop, floored it. The tires spun, just a little and then the car just fell on it's face. I tried it again and the same thing happened. I have a 2014 base convertible, auto with NPP. It was in sport mode - Any thoughts on what may be wrong? To say I am disappointed is an understatement- I traded a 2017 scat pack for the corvette and when I did that in the scat pack - it would absolutely boil the tires.
Check the manual to make sure you are accomplishing what you want with the settings.
I held the traction control button down until the traction light and the stability light illuminated on the dash. I would assume that mean they were both disabled
As you are in sport mode my suspicion is your are putting the car in Track Mode/Race Mode. This turns off stability and traction control (both lights will be on) but you activate Performance Traction Management. PTM limits wheel spin to the available traction, preventing you from spinning the wheels.
Try launching the car in tour mode by pushing the center button once to turn off Traction Control. (PTM is not available in Tour Mode). Leave stability control on at first.

From what I have read - PTM is only on Z51 cars equipped with magnetic ride control. I do not have a Z51 car or mag ride.
Nor familiar with RTFM - what does that stand for?
It's an acronym for Read The F*&%$#% Manual....I believe. I don't think the base 2014 has all the fun stuff the other models get. Maybe try Track Mode and turn off the Stability and Traction if it allows you.

Thanks - so basically what Ron is saying is he doesn't know how to help - seems he would have just scrolled on. I guess he is trying to increase his post count...

I don't know. Anyway, I actually researched some youtube vids and forum threads and I have come to thing that the 2014 with the A6 doesn't have some of the goodies that the later models got. When I had my C5, I just held the button down until it went into Competition Mode, then that was what you are looking for. I haven't tried this with my C7 yet and now it is hibernating, so I can't play around and help.
Thanks FX - I am sure there's an easy explanation. This is my first Corvette and the forums are a great place to ask for help from those that are in the know. I have learned, as you have said, there are so many variations and options not only between models but years as well.
Thanks Elk - both lights turned on so I assumed they were both off. I am wondering if the issue was that I was in sport mode so the torque management wasn't totally off, even though to lights were on. The car runs great so I agree with you, it has to be something simple. I will be out and about some more tomorrow and will give it another shot.
The lights also turn on when Competitive Driving Mode or PTM is active. Thus my hypothesis you had entered one of these modes. But you do not have these options so this is not what is happening.
Please let us know what you figure out. It not being obvious is bugging me.

It is bugging me as well. I will report back tomorrow.
Maybe so; yet, given the expense of new tires it could be doing you a favor.
Otherwise, if an issue's suspected it's off to a competent dealer to diagnose & correct.
If off warranty brace yourself though, favors aside might wished you'd left sleeping dogs lie.

Tires - wise counsel. It is not something I plan on doing often or possibly ever again. I am sure it was driver error as this is my first Corvette and I have only had it a couple of months. I am amazed at the behind the scenes technology in these cars and all of the steps needed to get to certain settings. I do have an extended warranty so I can wake all the dogs if I need to.
