A/c

Why does my a/c come on as soon as I turn my fan on. No matter what, no matter how hot or how cold it is or what setting i had it on previously, as soon as I turn the fan on, the a/c comes on.

Is AUTO DEFOG set to ON? Check settings on the infotainment screen under the Climate and Air Quality section.

Yeah I turned the auto defogger off and the a/c still comes on🤷‍♂️. I've looked in the owners manual and everything, evidently I'm over looking something.

Cant help you but curious why you would ever turn your fan off. Mine hasn't been off since I bought my car.

Is the passenger side set to a lower temperature? What happens when you push the A/C button? That should force it to turn off unless Auto is activated.

The A/C in modern cars is almost always on, including in the winter.

Yeah, when I hit the a/c button it goes off I was just curious why no matter your settings the a/c comes on when the fan is turned on.

If you have the temp set to low, you can't turn the a/c off when the fan is on. You have to have the temp set to 61 or higher.

preference, I don't want my fan running all the time.

It doesn't matter what temp i have it set on,, it automatically comes on when i turn the fan on.

I've always just set it to auto with temp set to 70 and left it alone to do it's thing. Always very comfortable regardless of outside temperature.

My guess ( I couldn't find any specifically addressing this in the OM, either) is that it reverts to A/C on as default, just like the driving mode reverts to T in any other mode besides S when the system is turned off and then on.

I always keep my A/C on, so I never noticed that it did that.
