I destroyed the shell on my C-7 coupe 5 button key fob with remote start. Looking on Amazon and eBay I can find many complete replacement fobs, but no shell for a C-7 Corvette. I only need the shell since I can use the electronic guts from my old fob. There are many fob shells advertised on line for various Cadillacs for as little as $10. They look exactly like the C-7 fob shell, however no size info is given. Does anyone know if the C-7 fob guts will exactly fit in the Caddy fob? If so, what year and what model Caddy? I can get a complete C-7 replacement fob for $135, probably a Chinese knock-off, and then use my own electronic inserts to avoid having to reprogram and cutting a key. Anyone know what the Chevy dealers are charging for a new fob? Any suggestions?
Also try C7 for sale section. Adding an additional fob to the car is not a big deal, just tedious. See the manual and tips up in the Sticky Threads section. It takes the "long method" to make the fob #1 and #2 - important if your vette is 2LT or 3LT trim.

Ron,
Thanks for the suggestion. I used the WTB section of this forum and was able to buy a C-7 fob from a forum member. I used my electronics and key in the new fob shell, and everything works perfectly.
