Default Soler Throttle Controller

I sent Mike an e mail with a couple of questions . One of them was if there was anything in the works for a Bluetooth -App for the throttle controller. Mike said yes , they are in the process of doing that and it is almost done !!! He said may be ready by March ! Also said it will have features like no other controller on the market !!

I’m guessing it will be an entirely new controller.
It would be really cool if you could pull it up on the infotainment screen.

That would be cool - especially if it worked with the touch screen function to change settings.

Even better is if the upgraded unit can be adapted to those of us who already have the TC.

Yup. I went to the effort of mounting my controller interface under my armrest thinking I would want easy access to adjusting settings. Havent changed once after I found the setting I like.

I don't have one yet but wouldn't it be nice -better to not have to run the wires and find a place for the controller ?

It is trivial to run the single, thin, flexible wire.

And you could place the controller somewhere temporarily, find the setting you like, and then tuck it behind the carpeting behind the throttle if you would prefer not to run the wire.

In any event, this is all speculation as we do not know what the new Soler throttle control will do.

Ok - Rookie question - Please no bashing.

What is the main purpose for these and are they really worth the money? I am not mechanically inclined by any means and would not have a clue on how to install, whether it would void any warranty and the purpose.

I have made many Mods to the appearance of my car but have not done anything in regards to performance.

Thanks for the kind and gentle response

A throttle controller accepts the input from the throttle and then sends an opening percentage to the throttle body based on the look-up table you have chosen. One can assign whatever response curve you would like.

Stock, the throttle sends small values to the throttle body until the throttle pedal is significantly pushed down. This makes the car feel sluggish. With a more aggressive response curve as the chosen preference, the car feels much more responsive and is more fun to drive. You can also a choose a very sluggish response if you want to go full on eco.

I have always noticed the sluggish response even with my 08 - Did not think my 2016 Z06 would be sluggish but yet it is. Sounds like it would be worth the investment but I know or have seen at least to brands Soler & Vitnese(I think) Is one better than the other?

Thanks again for the response

One of the few common complaints about the C7 (especially in the M7s) is the mushy, indistinct throttle response when moving from a stop. In the first six months with my M7 Stingray I had more engine stoppages than in decades of driving only MT cars.
The Soler throttle body provides a distinct, repeatable throttle opening, vastly improving the consistency of starting from a stop.
The throttle controller allows the driver to set how rapidly the throttle opening responds to the gas pedal position. It has OEM settings plus an "ECO" mode that is less responsive and three more modes (Comfort, Performance and Ludicrous) each of which has 9 incremental selections, with increasing responsiveness. (Depending on my mood, I run Comfort 5, 6, or 7 or Performance 5, 6, or 7. The ECO mode is gathering virtual spider webs due to its lethargic response sorta like a VW bug running on two cylinders, and I use OEM mode to remind me of "what used to be". The Ludicrous mode is well named )
IMO the effect of the TC is to increase the "g" force with gas pedal position during acceleration with increasing modes or incremental selections. It seems to bring the car to life and makes the engine more responsive.
About the only caution is that with higher settings it is easier to break the rear tires loose.
Check out the Soler website for additional information

Wow - Great information - Need to look into this ASAP as I hate the sluggish of the C7 - Might just be me but the 08 did not seem as sluggish

I have a 2018 C7 Z06. The car is not sluggish, but the throttle tuning is.

The Soler throttle control is wonderful, as is their throttle body, in improving both response as well as adding smoothness.

The throttle body also addresses the dead spot off of idle many C7s exhibit. My car would often hesitate when starting off from stopped a bit aggressively. This is gone.

I cannot speak directly about the Vitesse controller, but I am very pleased with the Soler TB and TC, and am looking forward to see what their upcoming version will do.
Their products are first class, Soler's customer service is unmatched, and the combination of TC and TB is outstanding.
FWIW, a friend of mine has a Vitesse controller on his Z51 and Mike was able to modify a Soler TC for the Vitesse and my buddy has similarly glowing reviews of the system.
