I mostly lurk over on the C6 pages but am looking to add a C7 rear view camera to my C6 and was wondering if anyone knows the difference, if there is one, between the c7 coupe and convertible rear cameras? GM shows 2 different part numbers for the updated High def coupe and convertible cameras and unfortunately no one seems to have the coupe camera in stock with an indefinite back order from GM. I'm mostly worried that there is a mounting difference since the coupe one can be fit to the c6 easily and cleanly. Thanks!
I agree with snampro. If I had to guess, the part number difference is due to the length of the harness pigtail more than anything to do with the camera or the mount.

Compared to other rear cameras I've seen, our 2017 isn't all that great. Certainly good enough for normal backing up, but if you're backing out of a spot with big SUV's on each side, the low resolution combined with the reduced image wide angle lens, makes it hard to spot cross traffic coming down the aisle behind you. Other cars I've seen are much better.
But it's far better than the "we don't need no stinking cameras" C6.

Fair enough. my last sports car was a 94 VIPER and my last Corvette was a C5. I can tell you it is SO EASY to park my C7 with the rear and front cameras.
My other two cars are a Toyota Sequoia and a Kia Stinger GT2, both of which have cameras, but the C7 is the best. I think the C7 being so low really helps
OP: make sure to update us when you do this project...at least throw a link to your C6 post in this thread when you document.
good lord, worried about resolution? are you facebook live-ing your parking?
The C7 has a great camera, resolution is plenty good.
I didnt mean to come across like i was bashing the C7 camera. If you check out the C8 camera its much better. Before the OP makes this investment I wanted to make sure he knew all the options out there.
