Default Throttle controller and A8

Anybody run into any issues with using a throttle controller on their A8 car?

I put the Soler throttle body upgrade and throttle controller on my car recently. I noticed that this controller affected the shifting of the car. That would make sense since the car senses the throttle inputs in order to acclimate to the driver’s style. With the throttle controller, the throttle input is quite large to the cars computer. Especially during shifts, I would usually kind of ease off as it shifts, just to keep it nice for the machinery. Well with the throttle controller, even if I lift a little between shifts, it still has a large input in the computer’s mind.

this has confuses the transmissions computer. Now it sometimes does a hard racing shift from time to time (mini slam into next gear) AND most importantly, I experienced the A8 shudder for the first time. Now I’m worried that I damaged my transmission because it never did the shudder before and I had zero issues with it.

I’m open to any inputs on this topic

This is something you should talk to Mike about. I had a small TB fitment issue and explained it to Mike. He knew exactly what to do and what to send out. I have never had a problem with the Soler TC and if you are, seriously, Mike will get it fixed.
My confusion is this: "...even if I lift a little between shifts, it still has a large input in the computer’s mind." What does that mean? Hard shift? Lag shift? Quick shift? What happens when you select "OE" on the TC? What other mods do you have? So many questions.

I have an A8 and have the Soler TB and TC and haven’t had any problems with it. I always use the paddles shifters, not sure what it’s like driving in drive.

Did you do the calibration procedure after installing the Throttle Controller? If so you might try doing it again.

I have both on my A8... I use both auto and the paddle shifters and they work beautifully.

I had a strange issue with a throttle controller, not the Soler - the one that starts with a V.

TC was installed about a year, and I started to get a mysterious "thud" whenever I was rolling over 50 mph and I let off the throttle. Took me months to figure out, but as soon as I disconnected the throttle controller, it was gone! No, recalibrating the TC did not get rid of it. I have no idea why it was fine for over a year with the TC installed and it started this thud noise. After removal, it never thudded again.

I am looking to at the Soler controller (just the plug model) to my c7. How do I know which to purchase? I am not mechanically inclined so please do bash the rookie.

Thanks

The throttle controller is the same for all models . The throttle bodies are different for the Lt1, Lt4 and LT5. If you just want the throttle controller it’s plug and play very easy to install. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call Mike from Soler. He’s always on here and has helped numerous people with any questions or help installing

What do you have the controler set to , to high will cause exactly the symptoms you are talking about, I have my Vitesse set on two , maybe I go to 4 sometimes any higher and you will get funky shifts, way to touchy gas pedal and throttle return to idle hangs .... and the dreaded reduced power mode because in some cases you can push the throttle value past what the ECM can handle ( If this happens just clear the code or unhook the battery to clear)

Kick it down to one. Then sneak up on higher settings

The only issue I have noticed is the perfroamce shift activates at half throttle for me not full throttle. It I start to say pass and give half throttle but immediately let off it goes into perfomance shift. Does not happen often but can be annoying.
