I'm looking for any help on this. I'm getting a thumping noise in my 2014 c7 convertible, Sounds like a large rain drop hitting the top every few seconds. It seems to be related to the starting/alarm system because if I press the lock/unlock button or start button it may stop for a short time. Also it can be intermittent.
Thanks
Could be a seat belt buckle hitting the lock pillar trim panel. I had the exact situation that you describe, thought something on the passenger side top windshield latch was making a knocking noise. Discovered that it was the passenger side belt knocking against the lock pillar trim. You might check to see if yours are making contact with either trim panel.

I had the same noise. I buckled the seat belt on the passengers side and the noise is gone.

There are retainer clips available that snap over the top opening in the seat belt guides at the top of the seats which will hold the belts away from the lock pillar panels. I believe I got mine from Sandyego Designs (not sure about the spelling but it is some kind of play on San Diego).

Just ordered from Sandyeggo Designs (correct spelling). Thanks for the tip!

You're welcome. Only downside seems to be that keeping the belts within the guides on the seat backs (which these retainers do) causes significant resistance when extracting the belt from the retractor for latching. The retraction when unbuckling is hindered also. I got used to it and they do keep the belt buckles from banging and damaging the lock pillar trim panels.

I just received my seat belt stays in the mail from Sandyeggo Designs and installed them. I didn't notice any resistance when extracting the belt from the retractor for latching or retraction when unbuckling. I'll give them time, but they seem to work OK.

Glad yours are not impeding the operation of the belts. Mine seem to retard the retraction of the belts, sometimes requiring some assistance to get them to fully retract. I'm going to check them for burrs on the bottom, could be the problem.
