Default Small rotor cracks

These are DBA rotors. T3 4000s.

They’ve seen 6 track days so far. I noticed these minor surface cracks on all 4 after my last event 12/6/2020

Last year was my first year tracking. So, I not sure if this is normal or what it means. I meant to ask this a while back but forgot.

Thanks for your input.

I think that’s a C7 Z51 front?

That looks pretty good. The pads are smearing a bit but front wear on those brakes is high because the brakes are only moderately sized for the car. They have life left. If the car stops we’ll just keep an eye on it and have spares ready

Yep...Z51.

Thanks for the info. I ordered these from you guys (KNS) actually. LOL. Using XP12/XP10s for track then 1521s for day to day.

I used XP12/XP10 combo on my Mustang and found they were not aggressive enough. Personally I had better luck, actually great luck with Raybestos ST43 pads. I know they are a favorite with the Vette crowd too. I found them to stand up to the heat better and were easier on the rotors. Now I realize this is apples to oranges but the Mustang was not especially easy on the brakes. 12 in. rotors up front and 3700 lb. car.

And I noticed something else, my Mustang saw more than 50 track days over 5 years and in year 5, my brakes were lasting much longer. Tires as well. Faster but smoother. Have fun, stay safe.

I think that is pretty normal for tracked rotors. I've been advised to watch the cracks and if get towards the outer edge, time to replace. Mine look similar to yours right now.

Okay great. Thanks guys. Next event is NCM MSP for me. Right after the bash. Just signed up today. I can't wait. I've never driven that track.

Anyway, no expected track days until late April. Tires are still good. Few sets of pads. Got my hotel already.

You doing the NCM HPDE on April 19/20? I'll be there hanging out with some other Corvettes in my #85 Arctic White GS. I'm running in Intermediate group. Stop by and say hi.
