Started my 2019 Grand Sport today to move out of garage since the weather was ok and to sweep out garage, tried to start car with remote start and it did not respond, grab my 2nd key fob and same result. Also Compass needs recalibrating, is this normal after the car has sat for the winter?
I would start with changing batteries in the fobs, I believe they are CR2032, it is a 3 volt battery and if it gets weak it will cause starting issues.
You may not meet the conditions for an additional remote start:
FROM THE OWNERS MANUAL:
Conditions in Which Remote Start
Will Not Work
The remote start will not operate if
any of the following occur:
. The ignition is in any mode other
than off.
. The RKE transmitter is in the
vehicle.
. The hood is not closed.
. The hazard warning flashers
are on.
. There is an emission control
system malfunction.
. The engine coolant temperature
is too high.
. The oil pressure is low.
. Two remote vehicle starts, or a
remote start with an extension,
have already been used.
. The vehicle is not in P (Park)
How long has the car sat in the garage? Was it on a battery maintainer? Don't expect to lose settings or compass cal unless the battery got really low. Even disconnecting the battery will only cause loss of window indexing.
Car starts fine with fob in pocket, and in sterling wheel slot. No messages on the DIC, just normal operations. Hoping the rain this morning washes away enough road salt so I can take a short drive to see if the DIC will show any codes.
Between the Pandemic, and the snow, I am losing my mind, It just dawned on me that the fuel is under 1/4 of a tank and if it like the other vehicles of mine they will not start by FOB with low fuel.

Never saw that in the owner's manual. I'm pretty sure it will start as long as there is fuel in the tank.

Compass recalibration is probably required because the car sat in the garage for a long period of time without access to GPS signals. It is hard to believe the batteries in both FOBs went bad at the same time in so few years. I suspect the reason why the remote start didn't work is you let the engine warm up to some degree after you pulled the car out of the garage before shutting it down. However, just to be sure things are as they should be, the first thing I would do is spend time charging the car battery to make sure it is fully charged. Then let the car sit with both doors, hood, and rear hatch closed for a few hours to make sure it is completely cooled down. Make sure you are meeting all of the conditions mentioned in RonC7s post and then try the remote start.
I have banished myself to the Corvette Hall of Shame for a month, I have gotten so use to remote starting my other vehicle during the winter which takes two button presses to start that I was trying to start the Vette the same way completely forgot that I had to hit lock then start. This winter has really taken a toll on my mind. Thanks guys for the responses, I tell everyone that if you have a corvette you need to join the forum, plenty of knowledgeable members.
