I've had the car 2 1/2 years, and I've never had a problem using AA. I was 20 minutes into a trip last weekend, and it suddenly lost connection. I haven't been able to connect since. I've used 2 different cables in both USB ports. I've uninstalled/reinstalled AA on the phone. The phone is charging via the cable. I have no problem playing music on thumb drives in the USB ports. And AA works when I connect my phone in my Honda.
Sounds like a phone (or app) issue. I noticed that my AA just got an update 2 days ago. If you use Google to backup your phone, you may want to try to restore an older version of AA and try it again. You could also delete your phone out of the Corvette system and add it back. As it quit while using it and other apps work, seems like an AA issue with the Corvette.

As stupid as it sounds, I tried the original Samsung cable, and it works now. For the last 2 1/2 years, it worked with the other cables.

It's crazy but true... 3rd party cables seem to eventually and sometimes suddenly, stop working! Had it happen several times. Had exact thing happen December as we drove back from a long road trip. It was fine and all of a sudden it didn't work. The OnePlus OE cable worked fine when I grabbed it when back home. Go figure...

The one in my Honda is working for now. When I tried using the old cable from the Vette, it didn't. I'd understand if I was using it constantly and wore it out, but I don't even use AA much. Only use it if I need the GPS. Not that often. Weird.

Any thoughts?
If you read the Shop Manual, the majority of all electrical problems are "connections". The only Android Auto problems I've had were all solved by a new high-quality cable. I don't know why, but something in the cable (wire itself or end connectors) seems to be overly sensitive and subject to slight failure, to which this car is very sensitive. I'd strongly suggest go out and buy a new high quality cable, and your troubles will disappear. (I've tried using other "used" cable from around the house, other phones, etc., with no success. New high-quality cable always solved the problem.) YMMV.
I have an Android Motorola Moto7 but don't use Android Play.
I just pair the phone w/the car via Bluetooth and it just plays music off of Pandora which I find the easiest to use. I recently had to re-pair the phone to the car but once it's locked in, it's fine.
