Default Top Not Secure Code

Has anyone encountered radio frequency interference on your C7? A colleague of mine has a C7 convertible and has had trouble with "Top Not Secure" code that has occurred periodically since the car was new. GM has replaced all of the convertible top sensors but that has not cured the problem. He has pinpointed the code occurrence to driving near the Los Angeles Airport ground radar facility. That is the only location where the code is tripped and this code tripping has occurred multiple times. I also own a C7 convertible and decided to take the same route that he traveled near the radar facility. Driving by, I heard a "ding, ding, ding" go off but no warning or code stating "Top Not Secure" came up on the instrument panel. However, when I parked the car near by and tried to open the trunk, it would not open by either pushing the rear button above the license plate nor the inside dash button. I pushed the opening and closing top button and finally was able to make the trunk open normally. This occurrence on my car was coincident with driving by the radar facility just like my colleagues's C7. Has anybody observed anything similar?

That's bizarre. Mine has never misbehaved but now maybe I'll hit up an airport someday just to see. There are a few here, actually
