I recently discovered the solution to dealing with a car fire. There this new product is about the size of a flare that has a 50 second discharge time. It is perfect for cars like Corvette that really don't have room for an accessible fire extinguisher. Mine sits between driver seat and door sill. They aren't cheap, about $75 on Amazon. They have the huge advantage that they are non-corrosive, and leave NO RESIDUE.

I bought three of these-one for each car. Nice advantage is that unlike small fire extinguishers, once activated they're good for fifty seconds. Hope I never have to put it to the test.

Ok, I admit I saw some other new fangled extinguisher on one of those car shows on TV that looked like a hand grenade that you throw it into the fire and it blows up and puts out the fire. But it did not look as compact as this thing plus on that other one you cannot really control where it deploys. So I bit on this one.
Does this come with some kind of a quick release bracket to mount it? I see some brackets available on Bozo's site, but usually regular fire extinguishers come with something. I was thinking of mounting it on the B-pillar on the driver's side. Otherwise somewhere on the sill. Any other ideas?

Yes, mine came with a mount. The extinguisher is compact enough to sit securely between seat and door sill. I haven't seen a n eed to secure it further, but I suppose a bit of self adhesive Velcro would keep it from sliding back under high G acceleration. 😄😄

Haven't had to use one yet but, after organizing a local group buy last year, I have them in all of our vehicles. The company was easy with wich to deal, offering a 10% discount and free shipping on orders of 20+ units. They're about the size/shape of a road flare, offer a discharge times 4X-8X that of a 5lb extinguisher, are effective on A, B, C, and K fires, have an indefinite shelf-life, and can be easily stored or mounted almost anywhere. Highly recommended.
Interesting. I carry a full sized 5# fire extinguisher in my truck but (fortunately) have never had to use it in the 10+ years that I've owned it.
In fact, I've never been in a situation in my 54 years of driving that required the use of a fire extinguisher. Doesn't mean such a situation could never happen in the future but personally I'm not worried about it, at least w/respect to the cars & truck that I currently own.
However, if I bought/leased a Tesla (or any other EV) which seem to be prone to fires (at least more so that ICE vehicles), I'd certainly consider buying one of these in case it starts to go up in flames, even though it might not me effective in stopping a high output EV battery fire (really not sure what would be).

As far as vehicles go, with such a small risk of fire, I just rely on insurance in case of an incident.

I do have fire extinguishers mounted in my garage and kitchen (which I fortunately have not had to use in the 12 years that I've owned my current residence) BUT I am also insured for both car/truck/home fire damage too.

I have used a fire extinguisher once in year of tracking cars, but on another car. It was great to be able to help and this alone justified carrying the extinguisher.
I similarly have extinguishers throughout my house and in the garage, just in case.
While Turbo6TA setup is definitely cool, I just accidentally discovered an easy way to mount the Element 50 without drilling using a 2 inch wide strip of velco. The "hook" side grabs super firm onto the carpet behind the driver's seat. So just wrap it around and it stays on very firmly. But it comes off with a good pull. So I put it just behind the driver seat close to the B-pillar.
You could probably mount it between the driver and pass seat area too but I have a dog that sits in the back and did not want him to have a new colorful stick to chew on!

I've only had one vehicle fire (decades ago) that occurred when a wire to an alarm system got pinched under a seat. Also had buddy who had a small boat fire due to a wiring issue. It doesn't happen often but the difference between replacing a section of burned carpeting or a wiring harness vs losing the entire vehicle comes down to having an extinguisher handy. My father was a volunteer firefighter and has seen first hand how quickly things can escalate.
