The good thing is , it's white , you will never see it from 5 foot away

PS: On a single chip I never use the full DR approach that they talk about. But I really like their paint!

It's difficult to advise on something like this as everyone's tolerance for damage/imperfection is different. You will never touch the chip up so that it will not be easily noticed. If that's ok then you have your answer which is fix it yourself.
If having a noticeable touch-up will bother you (it would me), then spend the $650.
As far as Dr Color Chip goes; (against popular opinion) I'M NOT A FAN. I paid about $30 for a 1/2 oz bottle to repair a small chip on the bumper of my Silver Sky Metallic '18 Tacoma and the color wasn't even close.
I ended up using my GM Blade Silver touch-up which was a MUCH closer color match to my Tacoma then what Dr Color Chip sold me.

I use toothpick method also and put enough paint on the end of the toothpick to fill the nick. Sometime have to do it a few times more after it dries . Lucky enough on my C7 Z06 it is entirely covered in Xpel so no touchup paint necessary !

Extremely easy to use, really requires no skills, just watch a couple of the vids, and you will get perfect results.
This is the CE after repair of 30 or so chips. I hope the photo comes out sharp, it should, it's a 6 MB file. Good Luck!
