Silly question here... I purchased a new to me 2014 2LT Z51 last summer. The info center screen has an option for navigation but I have no SD card in the center console glove box. Does anyone know if that was standard on 2LT or an option to upgrade to get navigation? Would I just need to contact a dealer and purchase an SD map card? Thank you for any information you can provide.
THe NAV info is stored in the NAV system. It does not get the information from an SD card. It updates via a thumb drive that is specific to the VIN of the car. This stops us from sharing updates. If I recall, I had to get the NAV as an option when I ordered the car. UY4 is the RPO for the nav system. Check your sticker for the NAV option on your car. Saying all of that, I did have the SD slot and 2 USB slots in the console.

Thank you Elmer. That was helpful. I did order the sticker and build sheet from the Corvette Museum. I do not have that UY4 RPO on the build sheet. I will talk to the dealer when I bring it in for my next service on what it might cost to get that installed.

Elmer is spot on - no SD card for the Nav maps and they can be updated by a flash drive install. I cannot say for sure what the cost would be to add Nav to the car, if it can even be done. Probably a lot less hassle to just buy a nice Garmin unit - it would probably work better too.
A dealer usually won't do it. GM policy is to not modify the cars from how they were built. It is possible, and it's not very difficult or expensive. If you look around the forum, there's a number of threads explaining how to do it.
You have a nav icon on the screen. You need a onstar subscription to get turn by turn directions. Probably, as previously said, get a Garmin or similar with map. My wife had onstar turn by turn & I was not impressed & when the trial ran out didn't renew because of the cost.
I have an active OnStar subscription, and even with turn by turn, without the updated maps, the navigation screen will not show updated info and basically makes turn by turn worthless. However I do have Android Auto and by plugging in my cell phone I can use Waze on the navigation screen, which is always up to date.
Put a Garmin in the cubby hole behind the NAV screen OR get Navtool, install it and get a front camera for your car and the ability to stream your iPhone to the nav screen and then you could use any APP on the phone (Google Maps?) or whatever.
I believe this system , although $899 , can add Nav , Android, and apple to 2015 and 2014 cars.
There are a couple of modules to replace that from watching Youtube videos are a pain to get to , but it is doable. and it is GM approved and fully integrated. They program your VIN into the modules before shipping , so it becomes plug and play.
They may be worth contacting. At least if the nav does not come with it although a nav antenna does, you can use the google nav or your iphone to navigate through your phone with this system.
The nav system can be installed by replacing the existing HMI (Human Machine Interface) with the version that has nav.
Other than dealing with the tight spaces for accessing the HMI,
it's an easy job, but pretty $pendy...
If you do the swap, be sure to check that your visor buttons are reconnected in the "A" pillar... don't ask how I know...
I have Navigation in my 2014 2LT and have not used it a single time. Navigation in smart phones is so far superior, I'm not sure why anyone wants to use nav in a car, with the only exception being cars with CarPlay so that you can display the nav from your phone on the car's screen.
I have a nice magnetic phone mount right above the console. I typically use Waze to get heads up on where the police are sitting.
