I purchased a beautiful 2014 C7 LT3 Z51 about 6 weeks ago (16,000 miles) that was a lifetime dream. I expected a few issues on a seven year old car and have run into only a couple issues. One of the issues is:
the keyless entry and start. I receive notice on the instrument panel that the keyless (door and start) system needs service. New (good) fob batteries and an new main battery. The proximity door entry will not work with the fob in my pocket, but the doors will open fine, if I unlock the doors first. I ordered a scan tool to reset the codes. It is not here yet. Any one have thoughts that may help? I have been "dismissing" the notices, and everything else work great.
Second small issue: the traffic on the navigation shows only major highways, no surface roads. I have checked in settings and no help. I think that it may be because of the older technology in the 2014 year. Any Information would be appreciated.
The door locks can be set to unlock any time you have the fob in your pocket and pull the door handle (passive unlocking), or they can be set to require that you push the fob button first. Hopefully, your problem is just in the settings. Owners Manual explains it, if you don't have a copy then it can be downloaded from GM to you computer.
On our 2017, the smaller roads disappear at larger scales and reappear at smaller scales. The 2014 Nav is slightly different, perhaps there is also a setting to change?
Did you say that you replaced both the fob batteries and main car battery, and are still getting the warnings? I'd recommend making sure the new battery is fully charged and not defective in some way, properly connected (easy to do wrong) and replace the fob batteries again from new stock at a different store.
I'm going for the easy fixes here, hoping I'm right.
The car will be a blast when you iron out the kinks!
Try turning the Menu **** left and right to zoom in and out. If you can zoom in the lesser roads will show up. If this doesn't work for you something is wrong with the unit.
I miss stated about the Navigation display. Zoom in and out controls the street display perfectly.
It is the (Green --Red traffic) lines next to the major streets that do not display. (interstate highways) work OK. I am going to try the navigation update.
Back to the door passive entry situation. I have found information that suggests that it could be the Keyless entry antenna. (Antenna 13502549). Any one know the location in A C7.
I have googled and You tubed but cannot find the location.

I don't believe the system has a way to get data on lesser roads. It only shows traffic on major roads as it comes from SiriusXM. In some areas you might get more details, read about it here: https://m.siriusxm.com/servlet/Satel...me=SXM/Wrapper This is one of the reasons I ignore the built in NAV and just use Waze, Google or Apple Maps on my phone, it way more accurate and up to date.
Update on March 25. I am going to " So Cal Vette and Hot Rods" in Lake Elsinore next week ( a specialty shop with good reviews). This will hopefully find the answers to my service notices of keyless entry passive door unlocking.
As to the traffic display situation: I have a 2015 Acura. After three years the traffic quit. I needed to subscribe to Sirius XM to renew traffic (only good for three years) ($60.00 a year with no music). The Acura has the original data base for Nav. and most all the major streets show traffic as it did when new. My Vette is 2014 so will not work with "car play" to use phone navigation.
I will update this post after my car works perfect.!!
