One of the tires on my 2015 Stingray has been leaking slowly recently, and all the tires now being 6+ years old I believe its a good time to replace them despite having decent treadlife (15k miles or so).
That being said, it seems the OEM Michelin Pilot Super Sport run flat tires aren't made anymore? I searched and noticed that a lot of people are using the Michelin Pilot Sport A/C+ ZP tires instead. Is this the consensus for best replacement tire? I want to stick with run-flats and while I live in Chicago, the car is stored in a (cold) garage in the winter. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
I would buy the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ for the car. I put them on my 15 Z51 and they made a huge difference in smoothing out the ride from the stock tires. By the way, manufacturers recommend not going past the six year date on the tire because they develop dry rot that you can't see and are a safety hazard.
OP - I also live in a cold weather environment - MI.
I'm on my 3rd set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ZP with two different C7's. IMO they are a much better tire for all around driving including cold and hot weather. Much better than the OEM tires in cold weather and very close to the same traction in hot weather.

I too can recommend the A/S 3+ tires. A new set was on the C6 GS I bought last year and having put 5K miles on them I'm very happy with the overall ride and handling. I recently got a C7 and I swapped the OEM's for the A/S 3+.
Nope, I don't track it and only drive in nice temperatures/ weather.
As you probably know, the Owner Manual says that the stock PSS lose a lot of grip below 40' and shouldn't be driven/moved/stored below 20' lest they crack.
We still use our PSS for summer (autocross season) but put the AS3+ on when temps start to drop in the Fall, and leave them on until things start to warm up somewhat in the Spring. Even though we don't drive once the salt hits the roads until it's gone in Spring, the AS3+ give us 1-2 months of extra driving each year.
I dumped the Pilot Sport tires last year. I got a set of take off wheels and had them Powder Coated and got Michelin A/S 3+ ZP tires. Best thing a ever did !!1
Alright, ya'll have me convinced. A/S 3+ ZP tires sound like a good option. I never really drove on the Super Sports when it was cold out, but they are stored in my unheated garage in the winter when temps get down into the negatives. I had no idea that was actually bad for them!
sandcracker-
I should have noticed this earlier: probably not true on your Stingray, but the first sign of a cracked wheel is usually a slow leak. As the crack slowly (we hope) gets longer, the leak gets faster.
A good tire shop will inspect your wheels for cracks without you asking, but I always ask, just in case.
Welp, I bit the bullet and ordered a set of the Michelin A/S 3+ ZP tires. Got them from TireAmerica with a 10% off coupon code coupled with credit card's 3% cash back and the Michelin 120$ cash back. Total cost shipped to my door just a hair over $900
Now, I have to find a place to install them without charging me an arm and a leg. Leaning towards local Just Tires shop..

call ASAP Tires. Had mine done yesterday. They come right to your house. This is a new Tire Rack owned company. Can’t beat the price either.
