2016 c7 auto transmission shutter
My 2016 C7 started to get the transmission shutter. I will take it to the dealer to change the fluids. Same thing happened to my GMC pickup. The GMC was under Bumper to bumper warranty, but my C7 is now on the power train warranty. My question is will GM cover the fluid change.

Your warranty should cover it - good luck with the procedure.
Agree with previous posts, the triple flush and fluid change is done under the Power Train Warranty at no cost to you. After getting the flush done, you might want to consider getting a Range Device from Range Technologies, keeps the car in V8 mode all the time and will not shift into V4 mode. Sometimes the AFM will cause a shudder, don't think it is a good thing on the engine, transmission or the torque converter. $189 for Range Device, money well spent.
The dealership did mine with no questions asked, I had scheduled it for the triple flush and had a copy of technical service bulletin, TSB-18-NA-355, took a look at the bulletin and did the flush. Took about a couple of hours.

Mine is in the service shop waiting for this service. Covered by Powertrain warranty..... Got it in on the last day of coverage. Have to wait for the tech who is trained for this.
I was literally in the process of getting quotes to change the trans fluid, and asking the dealer how much to change the transmission fluid (not even attempting to go down the picoscope test drama where they put test equipment in your private vehicle so that they can test your vehicle on a public road in order to verify what they already know - the only currently approved ATF for our M5 is not the fluid that they put in the vehicle, originally,) when I realized, even if they drop the pan and refill, they will only get maybe 7-8 quarts of new fluid back in. I am super happy to have found this out! Even the selling dealer (in Aug 2020) gave me a quote to change the fluid that seemed awfully low; I'm sure unless you point this TSB out they will be happy to take your money and not even do a triple flush, just drop your pan and maybe get a little over 7 quarts back in.
The triple flush procedure is the only way to get all of the old fluid out and the cool thing is that they don't even have to drop your transmission pan. It is performed with a Bosch DT-45096 TransFlow Cooler Flush Machine and in the Corvette, it takes 24 quarts of the new Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP blue label fluid. Tell your dealer to pull up the latest version of the TSB, dated Aug 2019. Previous versions will tell them to verify a shudder exists with a picoscope. Tell them you found the updated TSB on NHTSA.gov if they act lazy and say they can't find it.

Bigvette427 - Thank you for highlighting and posting that TSB. I have saved it and will be sharing it with all C7 owners in our club.
I was under the impression that the picoscope test was still necessary when I stumbled across the updated TSB (Aug 2019) that specifically said, if the customer says there is a shudder with the vehicle, and the vehicle was produced before the breakpoint when the new fluid went in, then just do the triple flush (and bill it to GM.) Just the previous July 2019 TSB had dealers doing the picoscope test.

GM states the latest update to "THEIR" TBS 18-NA-355 is April 2020, NOT August 2019.
If you want to go by an outdated bulletin that the gov states is current then be my guest, but don't try to sway others in the wrong direction.

The procedure does call for the tech to clean the pan and magnets the final time, but it does not call for them to replace the filter or pan gasket. I'd happily pay my dealer the $40 in parts to do so. Filter is PN is 24274402 and gasket PN is 24260071.

I know Kevin’s attachment is the most recent because my car is a 19 built just before the Feb 2019 cutoff. I bought it in Dec of 19 and when I took it out of storage last April (2020), I had a buddy from GM pull the latest TSB. After the COVID bs, my dealership opened (on 5/5 to regular appointments, not just absolute necessity work) so I took it in with the April ‘20 TSB in hand. Wasn’t necessary because my dealer already had the same TSB, but still. Long story short, my service guy said “so you’re saying you feel a shudder, right?” To which I of course replied “right”. Customer states they feel a shudder is all that’s needed, dealers have no authority to deny the triple flush or duplicate the problem
