Tires - Buy and install them at COSTCO ?????
Hopefully not too many folks will think this inquiry is too stupid. But will chance it and ask it anyway.
Would you buy your Vette tires and have them installed at COSTCO. I checked pricing out and buying them at Costco can save about $200 and more.
I've bought tires there for other vehicles and had great service and support. But...................

Do you have a base corvette or is it a wide body GS or Z06 with the wider tires? I wouldn’t have any issues buying tires at Cosco but would just ask them if they have the machines that allow them to work with tires that wide. Normally wouldn’t be an issue with the base model sizes but the wide body tires could be a challenge depending on the mounting machines they have. But this is true for any tire shop as well.

Wouldn’t be the first sports car they’ve worked on so not sure if there would be a huge difference between them and an average tire shop. Perhaps a specialty shop might have a little more knowledge. What I do know for sure is that Costco is a customer service driven company and I’d take them over your run-of-the-mill tire shop. Having used both, there wasn’t much of a difference except Costco gives you a little extra and works hard to fix problems.

Nothing against Costco, but for myself no way I would consider them. If it's a Z06 they might not even be set up to handle that big of a wheel..good luck though hope it goes well..

Wait if you could for the week of a summer holiday at DT to get their best sale price.
I paid $1020 installed out the door at DT on my Z51.

The Costco Road Hazard Warranty is excellent and a lot cheaper than a lot of places.

If they have tire changer and balancer that will handle the wide wheels and a person that is experienced on the equipment and is very careful I would think it would be alright. I have had two sets of tires and wheels swapped out on my Z06, one by a very high end dealer with the latest equipment and one by a friend of mine that runs a local tire business with just standard machines like everyone has. My friend put his best tire changer on it and he was very careful and everything went fine with no problems. If they are run flats, the very stiff sidewall makes breaking the tires down and installing the new ones a much harder job than than breaking down and installing the non run flats, and the run flats are a much heavier tire to deal with.

if you want.need the rear camber checked during the 4 wheel alignment...assuming you want the 4 wheel alignment done with the new tires COSTCO will not have it...but most places do not. I do agree COSTCO seems customer driven.

I have had better luck with Costco tire changes than with some high end specialty shops. I have had 8 to 12 tires changed by them (not the wider C7 wheels) over the last couple of years and they have not scratched any wheels yet.

I have the base size wheels/tires on mine and I had the Chevy dealer price match an Internet quote and do the install - they did a great job plus I got all the rebates from Michelin that were available.

I would ask if they have a Hunter machine and take it from there.

By all means....YES. I had a great experience with them. The price was great, the service and care they displayed was outstanding. I was even able to wash the inside of the rims before they were mounted. A real class act.

I have used Costco for a set of Michelin AS3 Sport and they did a good and careful job of it. Of course they don't carry a Vette size in inventory but the special size order only took three days to get.
