I will be changing my differential fluid soon. When I had my C6, I changed the diff fluid, and it was recommended that when finished, to do several figure 8's. Is that something that I should do with my C7, or was that for another reason that doesn't apply to the C7?
This thread has all the information you need: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...d-service.html the official procedure is with the rear wheels off the ground start the car, put it in 2nd gear and accelerate slowly to 10 MPH, hold that speed for 1 minute, shut it down and recheck the fluid level. This cycles the fluid thru the diff cooler (provided you have one). I didn't bother... just drain, fill and drive, no worries.

The figure 8's only applied to the '05 through mid '08 production C6 cars when the 2-part fluid was changed after the new 1-part fluid became available as the factory fill prior to 1-1-08.

My long term indie mechanic used to tell me to do the same with my C3 and C5...seems to be general advice for positraction? I haven't had my C7 long enough to do a diff fluid change, but will probably do the same when I do. Can't hurt.
It depends on which version of the diff is in the car. If you have the eLSD it doesn't have clutch packs in the diff. They are located outside the diff and require a different lubricant than the diff requires. The standard diff is an old-style mechanical limited slip diff.
Here are the procedures for diff fluid maintenance.
Rear Axle Lubricant Level Inspection
If you have the eLSD this is how you check the Diff Clutch Oil: Notice at the bottom the requirement to perform the bleed procedure using the GM Scan Tool.
Differential Drain and Refill for both eLSD and Mechanical LSD
I just changed my 19 base cars diff fluid. Installed Mobile1 LS 75-90. Mobil 1™ Syn Gear Lube LS 75W-90
I did nothing special on the first drive. I figure the old oil isn't going to drain out from between the clutch plates so no need to worry. I have rebuilt or replaced plenty of LS diffs in other cars. If I am assembling new clutch packs I lube each disc as I install it. Just changing diff oil, I fill it and drive it normally.
