3M PPF Observation
I've had the 3M PPF on my Z06 for over 5 years now, 52K on the clock, cross country driving in all weathers, and I must say it is holding up very well.
No peeling, no cracks, and it does hold a shine. Still very pleased with the protection.
Not saying 3M is better than Xpel or any other, I'm sure those hold up just as well.

How much time (if any time) does/has it spent in direct sunlight??
It's pretty much empirical knowledge that the product sector doesn't stand up unscathed to direct UV rays.

I too have my 3M PPF over five years and it looks like the day it was installed. I’ve had countless rocks hit it and it’s been a tough shield. It’s so good I had rocks bounce off the hood that hit so hard they cracked two windshields. Just wish my windows were as strong!
As far as yellowing my car hibernates six months out of the year even in the summer it’s parked in the garage when not being driven so I wouldn’t expect yellowing to be an issue.

I had the 3M PPF on my 2003 and it was holding up very well after 15 years. Granted the car was not driven every day and always garaged, but still quite an accomplishment. I chose to go wtih Xpel for my C7, and it too is a good product.

It's garaged, and most of the 52,000 miles on the road is day time driving.......in the sun.....on a black finish. I think it's holding up very well, that's my theory.
I have a 2016 Stingray with regular 3M ppf on it. 135,000 miles and looks great! A few tiny dings in the film, but not down to the paint.
I have Llumar Paint Protection Film on the Z06 and it is performing as expected. Very good.

I have this on several of my cars. I live in Las Vegas so it sees about the most extreme heat and UV in the country. Mine are holding up extremely well. The shop that installed mine said the key to longevity for this stuff is to never use carnuba wax on it. They suggested using a detailing spray only. So far so good on my cars.

Do you have the ppf on the entire hood or partial. I'm considering having my black GS done but was curious to know if the edge is visible if its partially up the hood!

Nothing on the hood, just the front, the mirrors, and a section on the front of the flared rear quarter panel, where that takes a beating.
Can't even see the edges. For best results, need a very qualified and experienced installer.

I have a Long Beach Red 2016 Stingray with partial hood 3M PPF and you have to point it out to someone in order for them to see the line. You just take a soft toothbrush and clean the line with alcohol every few months and it is virtually invisible. I'm not sure how the line looks on lighter colored cars, but with the darker ones it is not an issue.
As an aside. I decided I would get the full hood install on the red Z06.
