well I plugged in my range unit , and it worked good ,but im wondering ,is all the lights suppose to be lit up on the bar ,mine only one is lit up not the whole bar? thanks Bill
I believe this is the second thread you've started on the Range lights operation. I wouldn't let the lights worry you too much. Drive your C7 and if it isn't changing into V4 mode then you are fine.
I've had mine installed for over 3 years now and don't even pay attention to what the lights are doing as it's keeping my C7 out of V4 mode and that's the purpose of it.
kevin a jones no i think this is the first question about the light ,if you look at the company that shows their range unit ,the whole band is lit up ,so that is what I was wondering about ,thanks Bill

Hello Bill, create all the threads you like on the subject my friend, I'm just trying to ease your worry a bit by suggesting you don't need to be overly concerned with the lights. If the range isn't allowing your C7 into V4 mode it's performing it's purpose.
You can check your DIC to confirm whether going into V4.
I personally think that a Range Device is a must have for any vehicle that has AFM. Whether it is a Corvette or one of GM's many other vehicles that have AFM on the vehicle and has an automatic transmission. I do not want my V8 vehicle deactivating cylinders and lifters to put it in V4 mode. This can't be good for the engine components or the torque converter over the life of the vehicle. While I do not have a Range Device in my Corvette that I own now because it is an M7, it was the first thing I bought for my 16 Stingray with the A8 transmission. It did what it was supposed to, kept the car in V8 mode and had no draining effect on my battery while sitting.
Note, while pretty reliable these device can go bad. The first one I had which was probably a year old failed. In turn it wacked out the my car's computer with every possible warning message and put the car into limp mode. Luckily I was able to clear all the error codes and then the car was fine. I sent it back to Range they confirmed some components failed, so they sent me a new one. Funny thing, the one they sent was also bad. When I plugged it in, the car would not start at all. Also got a bunch of error codes. Once unplugged and the codes cleared, the car was fine. So again they sent me another one, which this time has been working perfectly. I do say, Range does have great customer support, no complaints there!

I have a Range installed in my 19 GS. I have a friend that uses his in his Silverado and then plugs it in his 14 Stingray before he takes it out for a drive.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
