I park in something like a parking lot where I can have a row of cars or trees across behind me. I set the center mirror centered. Then each side mirror gets adjusted so there is maybe 1/2 car visible overlapped w/ the edge of the center mirror. In other words I want to see the car showing at the edge of the center mirror also showing up maybe half of it at the edge of the outside mirror. this way I am getting the max width visible out of all three mirrors w/ no spots missing. I really like that blind spot mirror. When I first got it and was doing my procedure I realized there is a slight amount of distortion because of the extra curvature. I wondered how it would work out. What I found was, in normal driving, my glances in the mirror are pretty quick, quick enough that I see the extra width but never notice the slight distortion.
Hey, thanks Craig. Sounds great. I can’t wait for the adhesive to set and test it on the road. I had the original set up exactly as recommended and still had a blind spot. 5 years of turning my head around like Linda Blair in the Excorsist!
I put con-vexed mirrors on my 2019 GS (from Sandyeggo Design) and no more close calls. While you do loose the heated mirror feature, the added safety more than makes up for it.
I have these Sandyeggo DesignsPanoramic Blind Spot mirrors and love the convex mirrors as are allowed in Europe and on the passenger side mirror in the US but I have them on both mirrors! It took awhile to study and understand them meaning distance in changing lanes and backing into garage. I have now learned to trust the visual picture that I see with the mirrors.
Panoramic Door Mirror addresses these issues by giving you a larger field of view while retaining the original door mirror size and shape.
Our Panoramic Door Mirror features high quality silver reflective surface embedded between layers of clear glass. When mounted, the Panoramic Door Mirror looks completely stock.

The driver’s side Panoramic Door Mirror is designed with two reflective stages. Starting closest to the door and continuing outboard, there is a small but increasing amount of convex curvature. This is to provide additional view angle without causing excessive distortion. This is the primary viewing area and provides overall blind spot reduction.
At a certain point outboard the amount of curvature is increased exponentially. This was done to capture as much of the surrounding view as possible. The trade-off is greater image distortion in this portion of the mirror.
The passenger’s side Panoramic Door Mirror is designed with a single reflective stage that is similar to the OEM mirror but with a greater curvature. This provides additional viewing coverage without causing excessive distortion.
I just ordered the driver and passenger side mirrors today. My wife and I are planning a trip out west in two months, so I figured this is as good a time as any to get these mirrors for safety. I had a small round convex mirror on the drivers side of my C6, and used it all the time. I hope these work out as well.
Without any mods, making the adjustments in the video below worked for me. Before this I was uncomfortable changing lanes. My first drive home with the car was not fun. It takes a bit to get comfortable and trust the mirrors but once you get them set right, you're good.

I've been using that technique for decades, including 20 years in Corvettes and a lot of miles, and it still works ok on the C7, but only if:
Everyone drives a full size car, no motorcycles or mini-Fiats.
Everyone drives in the center of his lane.
No one is lane-hopping or wandering or merging from another lane.
Since those things happen a lot in real life, I bought the Sandyeggo mirrors (both sides) and find they make driving in traffic much more relaxing.

That’s what I do with all my cars. I set the auto adjustment for lane changes and then if needed, manually adjust for backing up since I change lanes way more times than I back up.
I'm very happy with my SandyEggo Designs blind side mirrors. I have them on both the driver and passenger side mirrors and they work great and look like OEM mirrors
I got my driver's side from CCA and don't know if they are the same as SandyEggo Designs or not but...I just used the mirror heaters for the first time yesterday and they definitely worked. It was just fogging over, not ice, so maybe the heat wouldn't do ice???

Same here; big improvement in blind spot visibility. Just takes a little getting used to for backing up.
