I have my 15 Z06 insured through Grundy at a declared value of $55k, it costs me $700 per year. Only stipulation is it has to be kept in a garage, has no mileage limit, 0 deductible collision and 0 deductible comprehensive. I just sent in for a quote from NCM and should have it back in 3 or 4 days, know a lot of people on the forum use their insurance, am just curious what the quote will be, if it is good enough, may change. Only thing is on the NCM quote, I had to put down a mileage limit, there was a 1000 mile and a 3000 mile, I went with 3000, probably won't drive it that much but will see what it costs.
Thanks Randy, we just sent the quote. Z06s are typically 1/3 more than a Grand Sport or Stingray. Thanks for the opportunity!

I do not know of a collector vehicle policy that has this exclusion, and I have studied all of them.
When I got insurance 22 years ago for my C5 I was surprised the insurance wasn't as high as I expected. My agent explained that Corvettes aren't stolen often which reduces costs.
Then again, I'm ancient so insurance ics cheaper. ;-)
This is really a tough question to answer, while many have stated great points, the keys here relate back to the underwriting questions to you. Age, zip code, driving history are all important factors of pricing insurance. While many can say one company is cheaper than another it really boils down to the overall underwriting of the risk. However, some take away's from my point of view:
1) NCM, Grundy and Hagerty are all reputable insurance companies for Corvettes.
2) Agreed value or stated amount is strongly suggested
3) Ask about restrictions: Mileage, storage, drivers
4) Using a reputable retail agent, could go along way should a claim occur
5) Stay away from direct to retailer companies, should a claim occur, you will not have another voice to assist you. That 15% is supposedly save will cost you in the long run in my opinion
6) Don't be afraid to shop but remember cheaper is not always better
Good luck in your search
