I have a FAT32 SD card that works great in the car recording, but I can not get the files off of it. You can watch the recordings in the par, but when I plug it into the laptop, it says it needs to be formatted. I even down loaded the Cosworth tool and that did not help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What kind of laptop are you using and how are you plugging the card in?
It is a new (like 1 year old) Lenovo laptop. To connect the card to the laptop, I bought an adapter that has a spot for the SD card (and some smaller card) and then goes into a port on the side of the laptop. It is not a USB port, but a smaller one. When you plug it in, it shows the external drive a s being present, but says the card needs to be formated.
I've used my SD card from the PDR and it plays no problem on a dell 5 year old laptop. I would agree to try a different adaptor or computer to see if that helps.
It sounds like your computer is the problem. Can you try using the card in other computers?
Would agree. If you're able to read and play the videos in the car, then something is up with the computer or you're looking at the wrong drive when it is plugged in.
I would suggest rebooting your computer with the USB stick unplugged. Go into File Manager on the computer and find the item called THIS PC. Open that folder (if not already, and make note of everything (specifically drive letters) that are under that item. Then pop-in the USB stick. See what changes, you may be getting more than one drive letter loading.
Well guys, it appears it was the Vivitar SD card reader that was the problem. Found a computer with the SD card slot in it, out it in and it could read the files. Thanks for the input!
