I used to have the front camera icon on the home screen. Now the only place I can find it is to press the media button and it does appear at the top, but don't have any icon on the home screen anymore. It used to be among the icons as shown in the picture below I copied off a web page.
Therefore the only interface I can see it, and use it is when I hit the media button and it shows at the top. I would like to have where it was before on the home screen. And I know you can press the arrows and go from one screen to the next, but not on any of those displays to be found.
I just don't want to have to press the media button to get to it, or always put the car in reverse. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Try scrolling left or right. If you find it, drag it back to the home screen. You'll have to move another icon off the home screen to make room. You can also drag it to the top of the screen (as shown in your pic) and it will be there for most other displays.

Perfect timing.Had to unplug the phone yesterday to get off Android auto and PIA Amazon trying to kill the PANDORA WAZE screen.
Alot of stuff going on with that C7 Screen.Sirius was useless.No wonder it was free.Good spot for the Camera icon
You do not have to press the media switch to display the icons at the top of the screen. On most screens you can press the area at the top of the screen and the icons there will display.
I have the camera icon at the upper right of the tray (what GM calls the area at the top of the screen) so I can easily turn on the camera by pressing the upper right corner once to turn on the tray and then again to turn on the camera.

My icon only appears on the display when I press the media button. It is then on top of that screen. It is not on top of the area at the top of the "home" button screen like it used to be. Go figure.
