Default Borla Muffler Suggestions

Hello all. Have a 2016 bone stock Stingray. Looking for a little bit more exhaust sound. Nothing obnoxiously loud. Just a little bit more sound than stock.
Side note I do have AFM and also have NPP Dual Mode Exhaust.
Borla seems to be the most suggested brand overall. Borla markets 3 levels of sound. Touring. S-Type. And ATAK.
I assume Touring or S-Type. But it appears the Touring line is not made for or just is not available for the C7 Corvette.
So I guess its the S-Type Borla level of sound for me.
Any other suggestions here?
Also, what online store typically has the best prices and service?
Thanks in advance.

Changing x-pipes will give you a little more than stock sound, a small hp increase and no cel. I would check out the AWE Touring mufflers, several videos are out there.

I originally added the Borla “off road” Xpipe which sounded great. Unfortunately they are no longer for sale from Borla due to EPA regs. You may be able to find one on forum or elsewhere on the web. I decided the XPipe just wasn’t enough so I added the Borla ATAK w/NPP. I love the sound and WOT is a hoot!

Borla s S Type with an X pipe did it for me ...too many times I have seen ATAK systems for sale on here with the complaint they were way too loud . Here is a good vid for sound files for each ...without X pipe influence

What did the X pipe add to your setup? What is the benefit of an aftermarket X pipe? Should I go with borla X pipe?
Sounds like I should go with the Borla S-Type muffler setup but what would the X pipe add for me?
Thanks for the education here. I need it.

For me the Borla X-pipe was enough, its like 10-15% louder. However as mentioned its no longer for sale, but others make similar units. The x-pipe deletes the rear cats so it opens up the sound a little. Generally recommended as a good place to start since its an easy mod and not expensive. Afterwards if you want more you can swap out the mufflers themselves.

Changing out the midpipe is only worth imo if you can find yourself a off-road version, no point in switching midpipes to another catted version, just keep the oem at that point.

With the Borla mufflers, Type-S sounds good but I do not find it that loud, ATAK is definitely louder and some do find it obnoxious. Try to find someone to listen to locally if you can, always the best to hear it for real, but either way you will get the sound increase your after

Went the pre-ban Borla x-pipe and then added Borla ATAK. Cold start is very loud and I get some nice burbles on decel. I run NPP open valve all the time with Mild2Wild.
Might be a bit much for some folks but I like it.
Good luck with your quest!

Since you already have NPP maybe a mod might work for you. I had AFM only and wanted more sound so I bought used mufflers w/ AFM and NPP. And I made up some small brackets to keep the NPP partially open all the time. I have changed the size of the brackets a little and am happy w/ the result. I decided to go this way because I have a completely adjustable sound level. Like you, I pondered various aftermarket options. They are expensive and I wouldn't know if I like it until I already owned it. You would probably need to disconnect your NPP valves because my brackets would fall out of position if the valves were commanded to go full open. I have no idea if disconnecting the valves would throw a code. Maybe someone could chime in on this.
