When you buy a car from vroom or any other dealer/seller, name one that gives you the keys, the car, and the title before you pay them.
Thanks for agreeing(?) with me. It's a stalemate. And I totally understand someone not wanting to part with their car without payment. But that goes both ways, no ? And THAT was my point.
Then again, who is more likely to take the money and run (a scam) ?
A established company with a local and/or national presence ?
Or an individual who may or may not disappear once they've got the money ?
It’s certainly a personal risk choice. I would counter argue the comfort of an established large business with CNC Motorsports and Hennessey. both spent money on marketing and had a well-known presence yet scammed customers hard. The same has happened at a trustworthy Porsche dealer with a turd person stealing deposits from customers. Not necessarily an apples-apples but good enough for me, personally, to stick with safe financial practices.
I also had a very good offer from Vroom, did not take it and sold to another dealer because of them picking my car up and paying for it a few days later. I know a lot of people on the Forum have sold them cars with no problem and am sure it is a reputable business but my car doesn't leave without being paid for. Too many things can happen,
If you're going to be buying a new car from the Chevrolet dealer, you might get a credit for that amount off the sales tax bill on the new vehicle. Which might make for even more money to you. Just a thought to consider. 👍
I guess I should have to laugh at all the dealers that won’t let you take possession of a car without a certified check in their possession first!
