I just bought a 2019 Coupe with he Z49 package. just wondering, do all C7s have a receiver for the tow hooks? Are they in both the front and rear? I'm guessing the hooks are an option, there isn't one in the car, so will have to buy one at the local GM parts dept . if there are receivers for them.

Z49 package? Would that be a Canadian RPO designation? What does that consist of?
I don't believe anyone would use a tow hook unless using for racing and if you break down while doing so. I guess for aesthetics for most.
The Z49 package is "Canadian Base Equipment", which I have no idea what that is (yet). there is a molded recessed area in the panel above the battery. When I checked the manual, it says that's for the "tow hook" On page 299 of the owners manual it shows the tow hook and where it's suppose to go in. They suggest using it for loading on a flatbed truck only. Would be nice to know if all C7s have that receiver already built in, or is it a factory option?
Why not just look to see if there are receivers? One is on the top left side of the grill. The other is on the lower left side of fascia behind the small square that pops out. My 2019 Stingray has the receivers but did not come with a tow hook.
My Canadian '16 Z51 has the receivers but no tow hook. A V strap is better for a flat bed. Tow hook is for track emergencies. A quick way to get the car out if you cant get under it.

I have two tow hooks in case I ever have to be placed on a flatbed. If you watch the you tubes or read forum horror stories about undercarriage damage done by straps/tow truck drivers, it is cheap insurance. You are only a blow out or mechanical failure away from using a flatbed..
Some of the tow companies, for driver safety, require the vehicle be secured, front and back. That is why I carry two tow hooks.
I you load a C7on a Flatbed the tow hook is on the right side of the car and the winch is on the center of the bed.and it will pull your car to the left. You should use a V-bridle that has T-hooks that will winch the car up on the bed. and use over the wheel straps to tie the car down. The tow hooks are good for removing the C7 from a ditch or pulling a C7 back on the track.
Many cars, especially European ones, come standard with tow hooks and many of them are offset to one side.
A former neighbor is a tow driver and says he has winched many cars onto the flatbed using the offset hooks, and never had any problems or damage.
NO hook supplied by GM. Buy at the dealer or go aftermarket.
Only reason to use the hooks unless your on a track. Well, other than piece of mind.
As to towing or securing on a flatbed, I don't know any qualified flatbed operator that would secure a Corvette using the tow hooks. They will use the J or T hook anchors on the underside of the chassis (the same places you use to put your jack pucks into.... you do have or will buy jack pucks, right?)
Ok, thanks guys. I thought it might be cheap insurance to have one just in case I ever need a tow , or have to use a flat bed and the guy doesn't know how to hook it up. We don't have any clearance under the front spoiler. Some of these tow truck guys have never hooked up a Vette...pretty scarey.
