Default Corsa X-Pipe Installed..... Quieter?

I installed a Corsa X-Pipe (double helix, secondary cats eliminated) yesterday on my 2014 Z51 with NPP. To my ears, it seems quieter overall. Are my ears broken? It does have a different sound, but not wildly different from stock. The most noticeable difference: there is zero drone under 3000 RPM. That is due to it having very little volume under 3000 RPM. With the exhaust in quiet mode, it's silent. Cold startup is really loud, but then it settles into a reasonable idle. On the gas, I'd say it's a bit louder than stock as you get higher in the revs. The sound is a bit higher pitched, but not as much as other reviews make it seem. It's still not a Ferrari.

Just another point of view. Overall, I'm happy with the pipe, but I was expecting it to be a bit louder. I guess I'll have to swap the mufflers now

I had the corsa and it really didn’t do it for me.. sounded decent but not what I expected. I got long tuber headers and that’s a game changer with the stock NPP!

OP;

Corsa offers two X-pipes.

1. Pn# 14761; My Double Helixx X-pipe is certainly louder than stock. Double crossover, off-road use only (No secondary Cats).

2. Pn# 21078; Corsa also makes, a single crossover and retains factory cat-converters, and would have the stock level of sound output.

I am satisfied with the increased sound level of my Corsa, everything else is OEM.

Many thanks,

Ray

For grins, pull the NPP fuse and see if you like that better.

NPP doesn't help bring any grunt to the engine with simply the Corsa xpipe. You will need either the CB or headers, or both if your wanting the sound.

I have the Corsa OR xpipe and extremes, removed NPP and I love it. I will also be installing mid length headers, but even without when you get on it, it really screams.

If its anything like my Borla the loudness is really only noticeable in Sport or Track, in Tour mode the difference was minimal. And yes cold start up and higher throttle applications are were it really increases.
