Aerodynamics when you are over 100 MPH. Since I rarely go to Publix at that speed, I removed the 2 air dams to give me more clearance when I go up driveways and such and have not drug bottom after that. The Z51 does not have a center flap, just the 2 side airdams.

They are easy to remove and install new ones if the existing ones get damaged, plus they are relatively inexpensive.
