Default Exit mode automatic?

Hi all,

New to C7, I had a C6 a while back, and it seems to me that I had a setting that when the car was off and door was opened, the seat moved to the exit setting automatically, and when I closed the door and started the car, the seat/mirrors/steering wheel all moved into position 1 where I left it. (if the second driver were to get in, they would have to hit the Mem 2 button to put it in their mode).

Doesn't the C7 do this also? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

TIA!

Paul

Yes, the C7 has the same feature. Check your owner's manual for the details.

There is some confusion on how to set it up. A young lady produced this video showing how to set the seat functions and how to avoid a setting problem that didn't exist on your C6.

Make sure your C7 is a 2LT, 3LT, 2LZ, or 3LZ.
The 1LT does not have that feature.

Also note if the seat is all the way back against the stop, nothing moves when you open the door. You need to move the seat slightly forward, as little as a ¼" and then everything works.

Thanks Bill, that's an excellent how to video. I used it to set up my 2015 and again with my 2019 when I forgot how. I hope the OP uses it as it saves a lot of aggravation.

Followed the video, was a great help. Thanks for posting!
I guess not all cars had the option to set at door opening OR set at engine start?
Mine goes to driving position as soon as I open the door. Then I have to hit the Exit button again to get back in. Geez.

I *thought* I had that option, but can't find it now! Ugh.

I'm having problems with the auto set when I turn the car on, exit feature works, position 1 works when I push the button, but does not automatically set when the car starts. And yes I have the comfort and convenious switch turned on in my info net screen, I even reset to factory settings. I didn't have this problem on my '15 stingray, this is previous owned '16 Z06. Thanks in advance,L8R ZFLASH

The FOB you are using may not be set in programming to driver 1 or driver 2.
Sometime people lose FOBS and new ones just get added to position 3 through 8.
Fobs that are programmed into the car in position 3 through 8 do not have the memory features, only 1 and 2 do.
If you have 2 fobs, you may want to have the fob memory cleared out and started from scratch so that the fobs that you currently have are 1 and 2.
After that your memory will work correctly.

Thank you, I'll try this later tonight. I didn't know about the fob memory, I never saw that in the manual and I looked over it several times. Thanks, L8R ZFLASH

Very helpful video.

Sad that it takes a detailed video to explain what should be a simple task. Good job GM engineers.....

I went and got the extra fob that came with it and it worked with no problem. So I guess the one I was using must have been purchased or programmed later. Thank you again, L8R ZFLASH
