Bolt on car… heads, cam, intake, cai, stall. Just had got the new drag radials. Car was wheel hopping on street tires. So fast forward. New Mickey Thompson’s. Did a burnout on the street where I make test passes down by the house. Loaded up the suspension and snap. Sheared the spider gears and snapped driver side axle. It snapped where it tapers down. I picked up a new gm diff but axles are in Fort Worth and like 2 weeks out. So I was wondering if I could just pick up a z06 or z51 axle and it be a match. For some reason the gm service dept won’t tell me part numbers to cross reference and I’ve looked all over with mixed reviews. Saying the rh is larger in diameter than the left and that only certain years interchange. Was hoping someone has some input that has been in the situation.

Whoever owned the car before me. Already put a rh in the lh. So apparently they interchange from side to side.
So if anyone runs across the problem. They charge side to side.

You didn't snap the shaft. You snapped the cage that holds the bearings that goes on the race.
Way thicker. Heavier. Just more all around.
The one that’s busted is a bigger one anyway from the right side that was installed on the left. But the z axle is bigger than either.
