Default Packages ? details.?

Hello, I am thinking of getting a C7 used 2015-19.
But don't know what an lt1 is an lt2 is, a z51 is. etc.
Is there a thread that outlines what each option package came with. So I have somewhat of a clue when I go to test drive them.
And if the packages changed equipment between years.
A zo6 or G/S is out of my price range. .
One local dealer has 4 I am looking at, one listed as a 15 z51, 2 others lt2's and one lt1, they have a g/s but at 69k it is out of my price range.
All 4 of the ones I am looking at are listed at 57k That is knocking on a base c8 a c8 with z51 performance package is 67k.
May wait till the crazyiness of vehicle pricing comes back to earth, but it be nice to know what I am looking at when comparing one to another.
Thanks.

Kevin made a nice break down. Here was my desires when getting my first Corvette. Feel free to disagree with my desires but I thought they might help you decide what is imporatant to you.

z51...many on here will say if you do not track it you do not need it. To me the Corvette is a sports car so I desired a sport suspension. the z51 also comes with bigger brakes which to me look badass. It also has the cool exhaust note.- downside bigger tires and brakes so cost more to maintain.
Mag Ride - great feature and great tech. The Corvette is a flagship auto so I desired flagship type tech. Downside the shocks will leak at some point and are expensive to get new...about 800 bucks each.
2LT - a must for me since I desired heads up display. You also get other nice stuff ...heated seats, seat that go back automatically when shut off car, cooled seats, auto dim mirror, etc

Well, there you go...good luck

I hear ya, but when looking at used you are at the mercy of what is avail and with what options.
A z51 set up would be nice. But to be honest a 2lt limits are most likely above my skill level ATM.
A z51/2lt or 3lt would be nice.
There are two they have I really like the 2016 is a nice blue and MAGNETIC SELECTIVE RIDE CONTROL .
The other 2 are white.
1)a 2015 z51, and lt2 the other just an lt2.
All 3 are 24k miles or less. bummer is all 3 are automatics I rather a row your own.

Thank you, this will be a big help.
Do the lt1,2,3 have the same audio system. I am a sucker for my music.

As it states in my writeup, the 1LT has the 9-speaker Bose system, while the 2LT and 3LT have the 10-speaker (sub) Bose system. I've listened to both and the 10-speaker system sound is only slightly better (if any) than the 9-speaker and both basically suck for a real sound/music geek.

However Corvette has never been super into it's sound systems. GM has typically gone more toward just providing adequate systems enabling them to spend more on the features that have pretty much made Corvette the most bang for the buck (especially HP wise) sportscar
on the planet.

If you want to row your own as you say, don’t get an automatic. The choice of transmission is arguably the most important choice you will make and buyers remorse is not fun. Keep looking if I were you.

Here's a link to the various model years brochures you can look through to get an idea on the options for a specific year. Obviously, with each model year there are improvements (and losses). One of the major things to keep in mind as far as infotainment is concerned, starting with the 2016 model year, you get Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability. Good luck!!

Since a gs z06 zr1 are out, z51 2lt with mag ride would be my choice target.

Z51 cars got forged rims, dry sump m7, adjustable suspension and improved cooling snd brakes. 2lt gets you comforts like heated vented seats, memory, auto dim mirrors, hud and home link.

There is also the ZF1 package which has the Z51 appearance: spoiler, wheels, etc.... without the actual performance parts.

3LT also has more color on the dash.
My 2LT has nav and PDR but dash is black with red stitching, no red panels.
2LT is the sweet spot for me, as it has what I wanted most.

You should hold out for a 2016-2019 2LT. They added the front cameras in 2016. Great for avoiding curbs!
Also, the PDR option is nice since it gives you something of a dash cam.
Z-51 is ok, but you really need the Mag Ride if your better half likes a smoother ride.
Good luck

Everyone else has provided good info.

I'd like to note that, since you don't know trims, options etc and so you don't confuse yourself the following:

A 1LT, 2LT, 3LT are trim levels. You keep mentioning LT1 and LT2 when you most likely mean 2LT and 3LT. LT1 is the engine in the C7 Stingray and Grand Sport, LT2 is the engine in the new C8 Stingray.

Don't ask me why GM decided to use similar codes for their trims and engines but its good to know which is which.

Thanks, I knew that just tped it wrong.
Why chevy keeps using the lt1 for engines is a WTF.
in 1970 it was LT-1, then in the 90's lt1, and now again. They could not find some other call out for an engine.
But again thanks for the reply.

And thanks everyone.
Ya, I will most likely wait till I find what I want other than a zr1/z06/gs I can afford them, but I can't bring my self to spend that much coin on a car.
Looks like a 2016 up manual shift, z51 2lt or 3lt .
I will go test drive the local to me z51 that doesn't have the mag ride, then oe with it .to see if not having it is a deal breaker. but that might be a tall order to make happen. . It will a summer fun car.

I don't think that's right about the Z51 having "bigger tires," and "800 bucks each," to fix the MSRC shock.

What I want to know is; what does just the LT mean on Chevy's Malibu and SUVs? They're mixed up with all their LTing.😄

Bigger wheels with tires having less sidewall height..... Gives rougher ride but better handling.
Base has 18 front 19 rear
Z51 has 19 front 20 rear.

Ah......that makes sense, but I've got a base Stingray with 19" / "20, so, other than Z51s come with bigger tires too.
