Yesterday I just noticed between 10 - 11 o’clock, my steering wheel is generating a metallic squeak. It is very quiet, but its there. It sounds like it is coming from behind the steering wheel where it connects to the dash. I had this happen on an old honda but that was after 70K miles. The dealer ended up having to remove the steering wheel and replace some contact point, luckily I had an extended warranty on that car because it came out to a $1500 repair billed to the insurance.
Ive read lots of threads on c5’s on the issue, couldn’t find one on the c7. Anyone have any thoughts? I’m not a fan of randomly and blindly dousing areas in WD40, likely any greased contact point would have a thicker grease anyways.
