Haven’t had a problem with my 2019 Stingray yet but have a question on Lubeguard. Is it a permanent fix or a stop gap measure? Should I put some in the transmission even though it doesn’t have a problem as of now?
Thanks for your advice.
Walt
My advice - don't fix it if it is not broke.Skip the Lubeguard. I do advise buying the Range if you don't have it. I also advice to get the blue label fluid (triple flush) if your car was built before GM starting using the blue label fluid.
I agree 100% with Flame-Red.
He has a lot of info on the subject and how-to's.
I had no problems with my 2017 but changed the fluid twice, myself. I could have had it done but don't want a service report saying my car had a shudder problem when it didn't.
FYI: I bought angle hose pliers at harbor freight that helps getting the plug out and then back in.
I've also changed the fluid several times on my C6 and modified HF 80 degree long nose pliers to fit and pull/replace the plug. Then siphon out as much of the fluid as possible before pulling the pan.
Oh yeah. almost forgot. Stick with the latest GM fluid and no additives. If it's not broke, don't try to fix it until it does break.
