Default Anyone else has this windshield problem?

It is not broken or cracked. Seems to be delaminating on the inside at the top edge. It is not an aftermarket tint. That's just the factory tint that goes around the edge. Few spots like that along the top of the windshield .

Normally a sign of either moisture intrusion or heavy/ routine stress. Do you hold on to that area for support getting in or out of the car?

That is called lamination separation ( not caused by moisture at all) it is covered if you have a warranty , if not .....

Not at all. This spot is where the top meets the windshield. Top middle of windshield. Top is not too tight. I have no physical pressure on this edge at all. Also, the is no moisture in the car and no funny musty smells .
I bought the car like that. Has not gotten worse but I am guessing to fix it, I have to get a new windshield.

Safelite quote for non HUD windshield $580 plus tax and fees. I don't suppose Hagerty will treat this like a broken windshield since I have no deductible for that....

Drive it and worry about it if it worsens to the point of being a genuine bother. It is not an uncommon problem. I've seen it on a number of pick-ups the last few years. Most don't get much worse very quickly, from what I've seen so far. All the best.

it's not leaking ... its a manufacturing problem, the lamination has let loose and is allowing air between the two layers of glass

AS mention above , if it does not get worse and it don't bother u ... its fine but .... if it does spread it is a huge safety issue

I had the problem on my 15. It was across the very top all the way across. It didnt seem to be spreading. unfortunately I had a stone crack the windshield and had to have the windshield replaced.

Have not had that problem before and actually have not seen a windshield do that, but now I know what the cause is should it ever happen.

If it hinders your vision or has the potential to hinder your vision insurance will pay to correct the problem. No harm in asking since the worst thing they can say is NO. Comp claims don't impact your rates.

same. Mine is minor. Still under warranty, could have replaced but it hasn’t expanded and causes no harm, and windshield is tight, no squeaks or leaks…leaving it alone…

Under warranty or not, GM should take care of it.

If you have Glass Insurance ask Safelite if Insurance covers this?
I really like Safelite guys in Webster Tx- they have replaced several vehicle glass- windhields and rear glass

Good Luck with that , file this one under the same as the defective wheels that GM is not taking responsibility for

Insurance covers breakage not a manufacturing defect ... this is a slippery slope

Yep.
Hagerty said it's a manufacturer defect and they would not cover it. I just called them. He knew exactly what it was.
I am guessing that I am not the first caller with this problem.
I am leaving it alone for now. If it gets worse, I'll pony up the $580.00

I have a 15 with the same issue. A bit smaller. Hasn't grown in the 2 years I have owned the car.
At first I cared a little. Now I don't care at all.
Car is a dream to own. I daily mine. If I get a serious chip/crack from a stone or something then I will replace, till then this falls under the "who cares" column.

Has the windshield gotten worse? I have the same issue now with my 2015 Z51. Wondering what to expect.
