I was thinking of getting one of those novistretch but I don't want to take it off everything it rains on it. Most wet bras will ruin the paint if left on after a rain then sun. The novistretch looks vented though. Any thoughts and will it prevent rock chips?
Use eXpel PPF and never look back. It is 100% worth the cost. I have quite a bit, installed by pro.
Did the spoiler myself a few months ago. Pricey, but the stuff is basically magic at keeping the car looking brand new forever. And it is invisible.

The Novistretch is mesh material, so it may stop real small rocks from chipping the paint, but anything substantial very likely will go through the material. But it is better than nothing. Xpel PPF would be something to consider on the car.
The mesh material is breathable, so the chance of damage to the paint when wet and allowed to dry is less than a vinyl one, but my personal practice is to remove the cover at the earliest possible time and allow to dry off the car.
I dont think the xpel would hold up in the florida sun every day. Daily driver, not a garage queen. A friend of mine has xpel and said he changes it every 2 years. If my car was new and in a garage i might consider xpel.
^^^
I would encourage you to research Xpel more. Ive never heard of replacing it every two years. PPF has come a long way in the past decade. Mine has a 10 year warranty.
Agree with Maxpowers. I am willing to bet your friend is not using eXpel Ultimate PPF. There are MANY brands of this stuff but eXpel stands behind there stuff and has a fantastic warranty.
It is not cheap. The spoiler alone cost $135. If you do just the removable roof it costs $600. Entire car is around $5k. I spent about $2,300 to do entire nose, fenders, mirrors, headlights, hood, door handle grab cubby, lower part of door and rockers, behind the rear wheels and the spoiler.
I drive my car year round, thru snow, ice, slush on the highway behind salt/sand trucks, every single day. Beach most weekends and even put my surfboard on it and take it to Lowe's all the time. It is USED hard nd driven constantly.
All that and the car looks showroom mint, or as good as it was when I bought it 2 years ago used. Can't say enough about how amazing this stuff is. Watch some YouTue vids of people scratching it and read the warranty details about sun fade or discoloration. 10 years is no joke. I keep my cars about 10 years so for me the investment is worth it since I hate the look of a rock chipped nose.
All that being said, you get what you pay for. Go on Amazon and you can see "PPF" for like $100 to do an entire car...

I had the Novistretch installed for 2 weeks while I went on a long road trip. It rained twice during the return trip. The only thing I noticed when I removed it was a slight accumulation of fine grit mixed in with the mesh, not quite as large as sand. I think it was thrown up with the mist from vehicles in front of me. So, being wet did not harm the finish because the mesh dried rapidly. However, it seems the grit particles settled within the mesh. I did not notice any scuffing or other damage to the finish after I removed the Novistretch. I will use it again.
I have driven on long trips before thru rainstorms. No problems what so ever novistretch is a great product that is affordable alternative. Film of course is the best to keep it perfect. I bought my car to drive and use up so it's going to get some road rash thru the years but novistretch and wax has keep it pretty darn nice.
2 years only on Xpel? I don’t think so, unless installation was done poorly. As for yellowing that was in the old days, the new stuff and technology have come a long way. I’d do a little digging into that Good luck

You drive that thing in the winter? .. I'd never attempt that myself. Always store my sports cars.
