Hello all,
My sister has a 2017 Z 51 and purchased a Battery tender junior 750 mA while ago. I see an adaptor to plug into the rear port of her Vette. Is this tender OK to use on the Vette, I thought the Jr. was for motorcycles and small batteries
Thanks, Rich
I use a Battery Tender JR for all my vehicles when needed. It’ll still maintain your battery but it would take slightly longer to reach full charge first. I’ve never had any issues between 3 motorcycles and 4 cars.
Thank you, will she will need the adaptor to plug into her hatch port ? I did not see the unit. This is my unit, It is a US 3300 Corvette ( model 1051)
Thanks again for your input,
Rich

I've been using BT Jr.s on several vehicles, including Corvettes for years. Never had a problem. I like that the transformer (wall wart) mounts on the elect. outlet. I don't think they come with a 12V lighter type plug. You'll need to order one of these. 12 V Plug

It is absolutely ok to use. The Battery Tender Jr. is all I have ever used on my Corvetts, and I have never had any issues.
I've been using a Tender Jr. for years. I bought it back when I owned a 1970 Corvette, and used it on every Vett up to my 2017 GS. Like others have said, it isn't much good to recharge the battery but works great to maintain it.
I have wondered if the tenders are actually good forvthe battery vs regular service. I took mine off the tender for a week and the car was dead. Has there ever been a study to compare types of charging vs battery life?
Lead acid batteries have the best results when each cell is maintained at ~ 2.2 volts per cell which equals to ~ 13.2 volts. Which just happens to be the 'float' maintenance voltage of a battery maintainer.
