But this time, same location as before but will be changing out all 4 door speakers and adding another 4-channel amp to push a full range sound out of 3-way Kicker 8" door speakers (removing 10" bose) and adding Dynamat in the doors this time.
What Kicker 8" coax are you using all I know of is marine speakers but they require too much depth
I have a 2LT and it does not sound like it has one (although I know for sure it has one) - what is sad that the stereo on my Cadillac ATS sounds better than the C7's.
what is extra, extra sad, is that my wife’s Camry sounds so much better than the C7’s audio.
Its an aftermarket amp (and a good one). Maybe the aftermarket sub was removed? More investigation is needed.
You can tie into the stock system (radio and speakers) with an aftermarket amp like this, but your limited by the (crappy) Bose processing thus why it may "sound like other cars". So not recommended, but totally possible.
JL makes good stuff, used to sell/install for a living years ago and JL is quality gear....if used there should be other paraphenalia, i.e a little black box behind the dash that allows this amp to connect through the Bose system, the whole process especially in a car as constricting and controlled through Bose hardware is a royal PITA..........
Agree....That plus the convertible has zero dead space to put a sub and a small enough trunk as it is. Sounds pretty good as it is anyway.
I have a convertible. I changed the 6.5" speakers in the back of the seats for aftermarket. I put some kicker 2 way speakers first but it was actually a waist due to the bose system filtering. I then changed those for a set of cheaper JVC 2way speakers and those sounded better with the bose system. I used the speaker wires as high input for a small amp. It really changed the sound quality of the car. honestly do not know if it is that those 2 speakers are louder and the UQS system is sensing that but the whole car including the base sounded way different. Actually felt like even the base increased a bit. The small amp is in the truck under the convertible protective mat or what ever you can call that thing that clips to the top. Was actually quite pleased.

Reason: add more info
one thing I forgot to mention the high input to RCA converter i used has a volume control I turned this volume control to about 1/3rd power but put the small amp to 3/4 power. I guess this drowned out all the noise for the noise cancelling coming out of those speakers. in addition I did this because the rear channels for the bose amp were damaged but for some reason the back speakers still played music. Cannot explain how. this ended up working for me. I will change the Bose amp out at some point and if anything changes I will let you all know..
