I’m a big fan of the SmartTop module from Mods4cars, which I have enjoyed on my last two C7 verts for 7 years, so I was dumbfounded when it suddenly stopped working last week. I could no longer control the top from the fob. The dash button worked, but I had to hold it down continuously (factory standard) to raise or lower the top. Annoying!
I opened a ticket on the Mods4cars website. A fast reply stated that I most likely accidentally put it in valet mode, so I checked using the dashboard controls. Sure enough, I had somehow turned the module off (Function 1). Following the instructions EXACTLY, after some fumbling, I managed to turn it back on again using the dashboard controls. So happy to have its normal functionality back!
Wish they had a solution for 2019 windows. I'd like to have this just so I can put the top up remotely, but if the windows don't go up also, there's not much point.

Yes! I submit a ticket and they blame it on another company! I bought it from them! Not the other company! An advertised feature!
How come it worked on my 2014 Vette, but not my 2019? What can we do about this?

They claim on their website that the window chip doesn't work on 2019. That's the only reason I haven't bought one. My guess is that GM made some sort of a computer change in 2019 and since it only effects 1 year, there is no interest on StartTop's part to figure it out. It there were, we would have seen a 2019 compatible version by now. Could also be that the "other company" makes the window chip. Did they happen to mention who the other company is?
I've got a 2016 Vert and they tell me I have to have 2 modules if I want the top to go up and want the windows to do the same. The price goes from $299 to $450. I'll wait till someone makes one that does both.

Good info, Thanks.
Yes. The other company is Top Down Technologies, Inc. topdowntech.com

I still think it’s worth it, even with the annoying failure of the windows to raise.
So much easier, and safer (if you’re driving) to just tap the dashboard switch, rather than hold it down for 20 seconds.
Also, I like to lower the top from the fob, as I walk toward it in a parking lot.

The window control comes from Top Down Technologies. GM did in fact make some sort of change that made there solution no longer workable with a 2019 Corvette. They were trying to find a workaround, but apparently never did.

The real benefit to me would be to be able to put the top up remotely. For instance, you are in a restaurant or store and it starts looking like rain. I can already put the top down remotely. The one touch feature isn't a big deal for me.
