Default Gas Mileage

I own a 2019 Grand Sport A8 2LT and feed her Mobil 93 octane all the time. I and not an aggressive driver as my daily driving consists of cruising the streets of Brooklyn. With this being said I only get 8 MPG! What's wrong with this picture?

That mpg figure seems extremely low if you are not being aggressive with the throttle. How heavy is the traffic - do you have extended periods of idle time?

My 2017 GS A8, since day one, has averaged 20.9 mpg. 17,000 total miles.

Either their was a miscalculation, or something is wrong.

Not sure what the problem is but you definitely have one. I have a Z06 M7 and drive it very aggressively and still get double digit mpg.

I have over 40,000 miles on a Z06 and my average is 21.5. You definitely have an issue. And that includes track time at Chuckwalla. The Stingray has 25.5 over tens of thousands of miles.

I've never had MPG above 13.8 on my C7 or C6....I know why though. It's about the same for my 911 Carrera .

Constant stop and go traffic of Brooklyn, very short trips etc...yea I can see that. All these guys that post up 20 mpg have no clue how real city driving works and they never experience it. If it makes you feel any better all I get in my 2019 GS M7 driving in lower Westchester is 10-11 and my daily driver 2000 Deville going to get coffee etc..gets 9-10

Curious - are you measuring based on the DIC or by how much you fill up and drive.

I guess it pays to live in Iowa where we don't have such fancy things as stop lights 🤪. I average a bit over 25 mpg.

Have you taken it on a long road trip? Try that and check your mpg. However, 8 mpg sure does seem low to me even for a lot of city driving.

some ting Wong

but seriously, go find a 30 mile stretch of interstate, reset your mileage DIC, take a 60 mile round trip drive with cruise control set on 65 mph, and let us know what you get.

This is what the op is driving in, what do you think he is going to get. Stop with the drive it on the highway stuff because he is not doing any kind of that driving. I get 25 with my Deville on the highway and 28 with my GS, apples and oranges as far as driving styles.

Check your tire air pressures and visually look at your front tires to see if there is any uneven wear.

Something is wrong. You're burning fuel. I drive like an A hole and stomp on it all the time and my 17 GS gets at least 15 mpg.
