My 2014 C7 won't crank.
Tried jump starting it with a #2 jumper cable.
Checked the battery with a load tester, fully charged and good.
Key fob battery replaced and placed in steering column, tried to start with both key fobs.
Manual transmission.
No Codes
When you hit the start button it won't crank, the dash lights up properly and it keeps showing depress clutch when it's depressed.
I was on a hill so I tried roll starting it with no success, engine turned over when clutch was released but it still wouldn't start.
How old is the battery? Mine was a 19 and the Battery bit the dust. Sure it showed ok on my gauge and I'd tried a GlowPro jumper box - still no go. Had a guy come by with a megabox jumper and it started right up. Dealer replaced the battery and check the system out - all ok.
What a frustrating problem when you can't even roll start the car
Given modern electronics I'd be surprised if a roll start would work. That trick was just used to force the engine to turn over. In this case a message indicates the clutch pedal sensor isn't giving the ECU the all clear signal to allow the vehicle to start.
Jumped the switch and still have the issue, the "Press Clutch to start goes away and the reappears after a start is attempted. Replaced the battery still no go.
I will not be able to get to the car until this weekend (business travel). I will check the concerns on the posts and let you all know. Thank-you all for your input so far. I am determined to figure this out or exhaust all resources before I take it to the dealer. Mainly because I like a challenge. I would also like to share me findings for anyone in the future.
FYI Car has never required the brake to be depressed with the emergency brake on, but it might not be seeing the emergency brake. First thing I will try. Then I'll ohm the fuse for the starter.
