Default Beating a Dead Horse

I'm sorry, but this is driving me crazy. Its about the LED side Markers, and yes I've searched and read pretty much all the threads on it. Probably why I'm so confused.
1. I know oracle side markers are the best, but most expensive and don't throw a code. jwmotorsports have them for half the price, and have seen a few codes thrown with them. Has JWmotorsports fixed that issue? Or should I not be concerned?
2. I have a sharkgray z51 and I believe I want the smoked kind but I don't see that option for oracle unless its the same as tinted on their site. Is tinted and smoked the same?
3. Also any pictures of a c7 shark gray with smoked/tinted would be much appreciated

Again I'm sorry for beating the dead horse - Just want to be sure before buying. Thank you for any help.

Here's more to add to your confusion. My personal experience, 3 sets of Oracle ghoted sidemarkers on 2 of my cars since 2013 = 3 sets of cheap Chinese LEDs that burnt out or dimmed. Sure, they attempt to make things right initially, but replacing garbage with more garbage doesn't do much. Of course opinions may vary, but never again for me.

Smoked and Tinted are one in the same from my perspective! You might also want to go visit the Official Shark Gray Thread and google search. Here are some links for you to look at....

Google Search Result Shark Gray C7 Oracle lights

Check out C&S corvettes in Sarasota, Florida...Lyle says he has had no problem with the many he has sold. ( $189 for all 6 ) Free shipping in the U.S.

Some say the oracles stick out a bit.

One YouTube video I watched had the guy using double sided tape to hold the top of the Oracle light in place because the retaining clips are not like the stock ones.

I have the no name chinese ones, and many companies just re-brand them pretend it's theirs. Anyway mine are good after 1 year of daily use, make sure to put dielectric grease in the connectors and tape them.

I had the Chinese LEDs that set off the TPMS on my 2019 Stingray. Luckily the vendor took them back for a full refund. Purchased the tinted Oracles from VetteLights.com for $200 with their coupon. No issues with TPMS. Plus they plugged right in. I had to mess with the pins on the Chinese lights to establish a solid connection. They stick out like 2mm but who cares. Nobody knows they stick out at all but me. More importantly they work with my car. So I suggest to spend another $50.00 or so to get something that will work without issues. If you go the Chinese route ask the vendor their return policy before purchasing. They probably all come from the same plant so doesn't matter which vendor you purchase from.

Or, you can forget all the potential hassles and headaches, and get the tinted vinyl covers for the ones that are already there... fit perfectly and 4-years later look like new.

I have the JWM tinted side markers on my car (had them on for well over a year) and they look great. I did have the issue where the TPS message popped up when I drove the car with the lights on and I tried the the Ferrite Ring Core RFI EMI Noise Suppressor Cable Clip on the wires for each of the side marker lights. Unfortunately, that did not solve the problem and I would occasionally get the TPS light to show up. It is more of an annoyance at this point and I have not decided to change side markers at this point. I do not know if JMW ever figured out a workable solution to keep the TPS light from coming on.

Items 1 and 2 are a must and a game changer in that you instantly feel the performance enhancement!

IMO oracle do look the best but the price I just cannot justify (I prefer the ghosted version). I'm using a set of re-branded smoked knockoffs currently now; no issues, no code thrown, simple plug-n-play and they sit flush. I wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again.

I had the same debate as you with which set to go with. I have purchased from Oracle previously for my jeep (rear cargo lighting) so they were top of my list, but wasnt sure about how far they stick out or if the clips would be an issue. I ended up seeing the Oracles on another corvette and decided to go that route. I havent driven my car at night often, but so far no issues with TPS system. I did feel the lights were not as tight as the OEM and out of precaution I added some double sided tape during the install. As far as aesthetics they are a great improvement over OEM.

I removed my OEM ones and had the window tinting shop I used tinted all six of them for $40 with lenses, NOT window tint. Still looks great after 3 years.

I just like how the led's go from top to bottom and are bright. The oem look like the have two little bulbs in there.

Here's a pic of the JWM smoked LED side marker light on my 2016 Shark Grey Corvette. I am very happy with them. I have only noticed them throwing a code a couple times. It is more of an annoyance than anything else. I am very pleased with them.

I have seen all kinds at cruise nights.. they never seem to have the fit and finish I would want.. stick up a little, don't fit opening quite right, etc. etc. maybe just put led bulbs in OEM and tint them?
