Default Connectors

Does anyone know what this connector does? Mines doesn't want to click, and it seems like it's burnt.

Since no one has yet responded... a little more info, perhaps? Where is it on the car? Have you done a function test? Checked online manuals for schematics (by wire colors, for example)?

I got this from google and that's the connector I was talking about.

Here is what the rear of the car looks like, note the item hanging down by the mufflers:

That is the same thing as shown in your picture shown in post 3. It is the emergency access key lock that fastens to the rear just above the license plate. There is a mechanical cable that unlocks the hatch and the electrical portion is used to signal the car that you are using the access. If you are deleting old key fobs and reprogramming the car to accept new key fobs you turn the key 5 times and the electrical connector carries the signal to the security system.

Make sure the locking tab isn't frozen and keeping the connector from seating completely.

Thanks on the info, I appreciate it. Not too long ago my car wouldn't start for a whole hour. After that it turned on and the theft light came on. Could that electrical connector be the problem? It was asking for a 3rd key and it also said the key fob wasn't in range.
