Default Ac problems

Two weeks ago my AC quit. About 20 minutes later it started again and worked fine for a few more days. The it quit again. So I went to the dealer and set up an appointment to have checked. They found it a little low on freon and added some. It worked fine for over 200 miles. We went out for a drive and stopped for lunch. When we came out AC was gone again, hottest day so far 100 degrees. Went straight to the dealer they checked it and saw no leaks, had placed the dye in it last time. Made another appointment thinking maybe it was the evaporator. After days of checking it came down to the compressor being bad. Oh well I should have it back tomorrow about $1500 poorer. Also having the serpentine belts replaced My Vette is a 2015 and has 97k miles so I cant complain first repair other than normal maintenance that needed to be done. I do trust my me dealer

Hopefully the latest repair will be the last one for quite a while. Things do happen and good to have a dealer you trust.

I agree 7 years old and 100,000 miles and first real repair bill.... I would be pleased as well.

In the first year after the factory warranty ran out, our 2009 required enough repairs that we were money ahead on our extended warranty already.

I just picked up the Vette. Nice cold A/C. My serpentine belt was in pretty bad shape, again almost 7 y/o. So there was benefit to all this. I t would have sucked to have it break somewhere in the middle of nowhere. $1679. total

$1,500 isn't bad. Paid $1,800 last month to have the same done on a 2016 Honda Civic.

Enjoy!
